BENJAMIN MOPHATLANE FOUNDATION

BENJAMIN MOPHATLANE FOUNDATION In honour of Business Connexion’s (BCX) late CEO Benjamin Mophatlane and the vision that he had for the youth of the African continent, the Benjamin Mophatlane Foundation was launched in October by BCX’s Chairperson Mr. Tony Ruiters, at the annual CEO’s Dinner. The launch was attended by Benjamin’s wife Abena-Saah, representatives from government, the Honourable Minister Lindiwe Zulu, Honourable Minister Collins Chabane, Honourable Minister Nathi Mthethwa, Gauteng Province Premier Mr. David Makhura, the executives of BCX, industry associates of BCX and friends, who gathered to celebrate the life of a man who touched all of us in a unique way. The foundation is aimed at enriching the future of Africa’s youth by providing technology-oriented educational opportunities and sponsorships to previously disadvantaged youth and also to support business development programmes and other entrepreneurial initiatives. “Benjamin’s legacy serves to inspire us for the next 20 years and into the future and as a personal friend and colleague of Benjamins, I believe that setting up this foundation is indeed a small way we can all honour and remember this great man,” said Mr. Tony Ruiters, Business Connexion Chairperson. The foundation is reflective of Ben’s vision whose passion for education and the upliftment of different communities through technology is nestled in our Group’s mission statement; To enrich communities by making the impossible possible, through technology.
