Seconded by Lynne Lucas General Business • Sue welcomed our visitors and wished everyone a happy new year • Sue explained to our visitors that we try to have a camp each month • Australia Day Falls on a Tuesday, but for anyone wishing to take a long weekend, Andrew & Sue are going to Sundown National Park. 4WD is required • An alternate Australia Day weekend will be Elanda Point, near Pomona. A practice thru walk will be organised for Jenny & Gail to Fig Tree Point, around 10km. It ill start on the Sunday • March is the trip to the Grampians, with the thru walk. Also a hike up Mt Feathertop • Easter will be at Moogerah Dam at the same house as last year. Walks dones last year were Mt Greville and Kinnain Falls • Anzac Day is on Monday 25th April. Anyone wanting a long weekend can do so, although it will make two long weekends in row. A coordinator is needed for this weekend away The Goomeri Pumpkin Festival will be on Sunday 29th May. This was discussed some time ago and some information given by Kit. A weekend away will be scheduled around this event • The May Day long weekend will be on 2nd May and it was agreed that Bunya Mountains was a good venue. A coordinator is needed for this weekend away • The Cape York trip is on. Kit and Mary have to leave Bamaga by the 5 th August to catch the barge back to Cairns. The people on the trip so far are: Kit & Mary, Peter Rice, Sean & Anne, Dave, Ross & Karen, Kathy, Donna & Karen and Bridget • Peter suggested a camp at Sheep Station Creek and doing the Brindle Creek Walk • The 2016 Pilgrimage is being hosted by Brisbane Bushwalkers

The Green Gully thru walk (65km), at Walcha near Armidale will be scheduled for the 1 st or 2nd weekend in September, 2016. It’s 4 days, 3 nights, staying in stockmans huts. 6 people per night are allowed in the huts. There is a house to staying the night before. The coast is $90 for 4 nights and $140 for 5 nights The Nepal trip is on for November 2016. It will be Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lake, a 28 day trip The club dinner is on Friday 15th January Saturday 16th is Gwongoorool Pool, and depending who is walking, over the Commera River and along the old track We have a team in the Kokoda Challenge again this year. The entry fee is around $400 and a $1600 donation has to be made. Lynne will do the chocolate drive. We are on the standby list for a sausage sizzle and Heather will approach Bunnings Browns Plains for a donation of an item to raffle Abseiling training/practice will take place over 3 weekends. Commencing Sunday, February 7 th at Kangaroo Point Cliffs. Week 2 will be at Back Creek Gorge near Beechmong and week 3 will be Mt Lindesay. The club will provide harnesses, helmets and ropes Pro-rata membership is $25 from now up until 30th June. The full membership is $35 per person or $50 for two people Sue, Regina and Jon did part of the Sunshine Coast Great Walk between Christmas and New Year. The walk commenced at Baroon Pocket Dam and finished near Flaxton. The weather was mostly good, not too hot and mostly dry. Not much wildlife was to be seen. Sue and Regina stayed at an Airbnb place at Mapleton. The people were very accommodating with giving lifts and picking the walkers up after the walk. Sue highly recommended this for anyone wanting to do the walk in the future The Lamington National Heritage Association will be doing accreditation training on June 18 th & 19th. This would enable people to volunteer in the ranger’s station

Walk Grading’s Walkers Guide: Participants are required to read and understand the Grading System for activities as listed. They should ensure that they are able to complete the listed walk. New members will normally start with two shorter and easier walks with the Club, such as easy terrain, easy fitness, and or short to medium length and progress by one grading step per activity.
