Mudchook Andrew Turner tackling a Crookwell player with Aldren Roferos and Jack Worman in support Junior Bowling championships C2 Bungendore were represented in the recent ACT Junior Bowling championships by the Edwards Brothers. Dylan, Jarrod and Brock, who have only been playing competitively for a short period of time ventured off to the North Canberra Club to match it with Canberra's best. Playing over three days the championship consisted of singles, pairs, triples and fours. All boys played competitively,

winning as many games in the round robin as they lost. Jarrod and Brock were members of the winning fours team defeating the team skipped by their elder brother Dylan. The boys now wait to see if their form has warranted selection in the ACT Junior teams for the upcoming National championships. It has been some years since Bungendore was represented at a junior level in the Championships. Press Release

Peter Callander Last Saturday the Bungendore Rugby club played against the Crookwell dogs in round 13 of the South Coast/ Monaro competition. It was going to be one of those days. It was extremely cold and very wet underfoot at Mudchook central. The start of the game was delayed for over an hour due to unforeseen circumstances. The Mudchick cheerleaders performed twice before the game had started to entertain the frustrated crowd. The game had to be reduced to 30 minute halves with

no injury time so that the match could be completed under normal lighting conditions. The Mudchooks took to the field with a full squad of 22 players. When the referee blew his whistle to start the game it soon became clear that this was going to be a tough game. A number of attacking plays from the Mudchook forwards looked promising, but with a lack of ball control and a strong opposition pack the home side struggled. The lead in Coach Dave McDonald’s pencil snapped suddenly and his game plan went out the door. Crookwell’s defence was outstanding. After 60 gruelling minutes of rugby the final score was 15–6 to Crookwell, with Crookwell scoring two tries to nil. John Steele kicked two penalty goals which were the only score for the home side. Next weekend the 25 July the Mudchooks play Boorowa in the the last regular home game before the start of the finals. The Mudchooks need to win the remaining last two games to be in a strong position to host a home final. Youth side bit short on players Press Release The Bungendore Tigers Youth side took on the Gungahlin Bulls at Nichols last Sunday. Unfortunately they were a bit short on players but all players gave it their best. Kayne Critchlow stole the show with an intercept try. It is Kayne’s first year of football and he has a tonne of potential.

Shaun Stewart also had a very good game. He made lots of metres down the middle and the Gungahlin defence found him hard to tackle. He was also denied a certain try. Jack Asimus was everywhere charging down the Gungahlin players. Honourable mention also to Josh De Vito and Dylan McLarty. They

turn up every week and try their best to keep the side going and motivated. Bendigo Bank 3 points/ Jack Asimus Benmax 2 points/ Shaun Stewart Bungendore Bobcats 1 point/ Kayne Critchlow This week the youth side take on Crookwell at Crookwell on Sunday at 12 noon.
