In May, JD was promoted to major and in July, his family relocated to Buffalo, New York where he is currently serving as the inspector instructor for Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 25th Marines. JD returned to Bullis in June for the alumni crab feast and notes it was incredible to see how much the School has grown and yet still has the same old feeling. LINDSEY (GOODMAN) SIMPSON works as an aesthetician at Bespoke Aesthetics in Washington, D.C., consulting one-on-one with clients to understand their unique skincare needs and concerns and providing customized solutions to improve their skin, overall energy and well-being. Lindsey and her husband JOHN SIMPSON ’98 have two sons, Miles, 6 and Oliver, 3. Earlier this year BRIAN LUMPKIN joined RE/MAX Reality Services serving the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. areas and was recently recognized as #40 out of the Top 100 producing agents with over 4,000 agents in the DC market place. Brian is also very excited to announce the launch of Lumpkin Residential in 2017. Best wishes to CARISSA MAGUIRE who married John FitzGerald Gaine in Kenmare, Ireland on June 22. Both Carissa and John are originally from Bethesda and part of large Irish families, so having the wedding in Ireland was particularly special. of Cardiology and John works for NASA. Five years after moving from New York City, TANNER CERAND reports that he is “still loving” Austin, Texas. A few years ago, Tanner accepted a position to build out the research team at Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm focused on investing in software and technology-enabled businesses. While work keeps Tanner busy, he recently traveled to Iceland to celebrate his 35th birthday. Tanner loves connecting with old friends, so drop him a line if you’re ever in Austin.
’01 MONIQUE CURRIE’S Washington Mystics jersey is hanging in the WNBA exhibit at the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. Monique played seven seasons with the Mystics from 2007-2014, and recently started her first season with the San Antonio Stars. Currently in the off-season, Monique is playing basketball in South Korea for Woori Bank Wibee. NICOLAS KVASNOVSKY left Arhaus furniture in September after several years to pursue a new opportunity as the senior account manager for Standard Business Furniture, an independent full-service furniture dealership based in Maryland. He says he is “so excited for this new venture!” Nick also had a great time catching up with many of his Bullis friends at the wedding of Frank Gravino ’01 in October.

ERIN (FERRELL) HARPER has lived in Charlotte, North Carolina for 11 years since graduating from Wake Forest University in 2005. Erin received her master’s degree in educational leadership from Wingate University in North Carolina and currently is in her first year as Head of Lower School at Providence Day School, an independent K-12 school in Charlotte. Erin enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including her husband Ryan and their son Zane, 2. FRANK GRAVINO and Patricia Ryan were married October 8 in Minneapolis. Bullis alumni Nicolas Kvasnovsky ’01, Matthew Rosenfeld ’01, Jonathan Phillips ’01, Adam Wolk ’01 and Andrew Tillman ’01 were also in attendance to celebrate the happy couple. Frank and Patricia live in San Diego where he is a sales account manager at a software company and she is in regulatory affairs at a biotechnology company.
’04 Congratulations to MORGAN (KELLY) BURKE who completed her third marathon in Chicago, achieving a personal best time of 3:56:06 and raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Morgan and her husband Jordan Burke ’05 and their daughter Delaney, 2, live in Boston where she is the chief marketing officer at Green Piñata Toy Share, a toy rental subscription startup company. BRAIN TEASER and his wife Whitney! The Davises welcomed their son Buckley William Davis on May 19, joining big sister Molly, 2. Paul is still in touch with many Bullis alumni and owns CrossFit Harbor East with Brandon Chasen ’04 and Moise Fokou ’04 and in September Paul and Scott Foulger ’04 acquired American Window and Building Cleaning, a commercial window washing company which services Maryland, Virginia and D.C. LAURA STEYER obtained her master’s in social work from Catholic University in 2013 and worked for the city of Alexandria, Virginia and in private practice for over a year. She returned to Bullis last year as an Admission associate and assistant girls lacrosse coach. Laura says she is so happy to be back at her alma mater, working with students on the field as well as with prospective Bullis families. On October 8, a team of family and friends led by CLAUDIA (BAHAR) LAY ’04 and Martin Bahar ’02 came together for the 8th consecutive year to remember Maddie Bahar ’01 by walking in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light The Night Walk at Rockville Town Square. Maddie’s Team was formed in 2009 after Maddie lost a ninemonth battle with plasma cell leukemia at the age of 25. Since then, Maddie’s siblings have led the team to raise more than $165,000 for the mission of LLS in memory of their sister.
