Says Camie, “I am over the moon!” Carissa Maguire was recently promoted to senior specialist at the American College of Cardiology, where she is an event coordinator for the College and a staff liaison for their Governance Committee. Carissa just celebrated her 30th birthday by taking her mom on a cruise to Bermuda. She lives in the Logan Circle area of Washington, D.C. Michele (Kasnett) Schifrin and her husband, Jonathan, are proud to announce the arrival of their first child, daughter Hunter Reese, who was born on September 12, 2010. Michele is working as a senior producer/casting director at Serge Nivelle Studios and Jon is a commercial real estate broker at Transwestern. Michele, Jon and Hunter live in New York City. Katie (Sugar) Scheiner and her husband, Michael, recently welcomed their second daughter, Ava Bailey, on September 15. Katie and Michael’s daughter Sadie, 2, is loving her new role as a big sister.

Congratulations to Courtney (Weinstein) Posner and her husband Raph Posner on the arrival of their first child, son Chase, who was born on April 4. For the past four years, Courtney has been an associate in the Private Funds Group at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, and recently started a new job as the vice president and counsel at PineBridge Investments. Raph is the associate general counsel at MatlinPatterson Global Advisors. Courtney, Raph and Chase are living in New York City.

2001 Ben Brundred and Maia Matthews were married on February 26 in Bethesda. Also in attendance were Bullis alumni June (Ventura) Wheatley ’01, Stella Emsellem ’01 and David Lezell ’01. Ben is a communications consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton and Maia is a litigation paralegal at Baker & McKenzie, while pursuing her master’s degree in nonprofit management at the University of Maryland. Ben and Maia live in Rockville. Ahmed Elattar is currently enrolled in the industrial engineering Ph.D. program at the University of Central Florida.

Tara (Haag) Parra ’01 and Andres Parra ’99 were married on the beach at sunset in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, on April 30, followed by a local reception at the Strathmore Mansion in Rockville on May 7. Included in the wedding party were Kimberly Ochsman ’01, Brad Melshenker ’00, Beatris Parra ’07, Carlos Parra ’02, David Ochsman ’01 and Alex Wilmot ’99. They also enjoyed the company of Victoria Bernstein ’01, Mike Senkowski ’02, Yashar Norhashemi ’01, Jennifer Miller ’01, Brian Lumpkin ’00, Erin Ferrell ’01, Krystalyn Ellerbe ’01, Safi Mojidi ’04 and Kira Orr ’93 at their wedding festivities.
