Washington-Low-pitched and flat roofs may dominate current home design in some parts of the country, but in the "Show Me" state of Missouri, high pitched roofs of the provincial style of architecture are booming business for Stanton Development Corporation, Kansas City, according to Timber Engineering Company, research affiliate of National Lumber Manufacturers Association. Riverside, Calif.-After a slight drop early this summer, Riverside county's unincorporated communities are again on a record pace of $2 million a month in construction. August permits were $2,317,299-almost $1 million more than July valuation-and put the year's first-eight-months total at $15,649,600, which was less than $700,000 short of the total for all ol 1954, the record year. August's construction was mostly single-family dwellings.
