Nikkel Will Disrribute New Sheet-Boord Product

R. F. Nikkel Lumber Company, Sacramento, has been named exclusive distributor for a new Sheet-Board plant recently constructed in Sacramento. The new plant, Versa Products, is the only other Sheet-Board plant in California, according to president Tom Bird, veteran Sheet-Board operator.

A relatively new produit, SheetBoard is a workable, nailable, solid lumber panel in rigid, strong "sheet" form. Manufactured in 2'xLC sections. the FHA-approved product is becoming increasingly popular for roof, floor and sidewall sheathing, as well as for many other uses in home, farm, commercial and industrial construction.

"Sheet-Board by Versa" is manufactured in accordance with WPA rules for Sheet-Board. Sheathing grade or No. 4 Common & Better is used in the lumber "core" and a "veneer" of 42 lb. Kraft paper is bonded to each side of the panel under pressure and heat to insure a permanent bond between the paper and wood. The product is manufactured with lap-joints which eliminates the necessity of using building paper (FHA-approved) and individual boards in the panel having lengths less than the full length of the panel are finger jointed and glued.

The Versa panel normally comes in %" thickness, two-feet wide and sixteen feet long. However, the panel can be supplied in any width up to 8', and there is no limit to length other than maximumhandling facilities. Like "endless wood," Sheet-Board is also t'endless."
