Plywood Exhibir in Federql Construction Producfs Center

The Hardwood Plywood Institute, Arlington, Virginia, has opened a new hardwood plywood exhibit in the Federal Construction Products Center located in the General Services Building in Washington, D.C.

The Center is open to the public, but it is sponsored by tl.re Army, Navy, Air Force, V.A., Atomic Energy Commission andPublicBuilding Service as a place where building materials and components are displayed for the technical use of architects and engineers assigned to Federal construction projects.

Hardwood plywood samples recently installed in the display racks by the Institute include : Brown Ash, Basswood, Beech, Cedar, Cherry, Cottonwood, Cypress, Elm (Rotary & Plain Sliced), Gum, Maple, Red Oak, White Oak (Rotary & Sliced), Poplar, Sycamore (Rotary & Sliced) ; Avodire, Limba, Lauan, African and Honduras Mahogany,.Paldao, Rosewood, Teak, Boxelder, Hackberry, Locust, and Pecan.

Thirty-six other hardwood plywood samples are on display, as well as American Walnut in 20 different veneer cuts, figure types, and finishes. HPI members having additional hardwood plywood displays include United Slates Plywood Corporation with flush doors, church pews and moveable partitions and Wood-Mosaic Corporation with laminated hardwood block flooring of walnut, cherry, birch and oak.

Also in the center are extensive displays of lumber, concrete blocks, aluminum, mosaic tile, vinyl tiles, roofing windows, bricks, hardboard, etc. by trade associations and individual companies.
