Solano County Declcred Criticcl Delense Housing Arec

Solano County in California has been designated a critical defense area for housing, and credit controls will be relaxed to help provide housing for military and civilian personnel of military establishments in the area.

The designation was made by the Defense Production Administration on recommendation of the DPA's interag'ency Committee on Critical Defense Areas.

, Pursuant to this designation, and with the concurrence of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Housing and Home Finance Agency announced that credit controls will be relaxed on 600 units of housing in the area to help relieve the housing shortage there.

Naval Yard at Vallejo and the Benicia Arsenal at Benicia, both permanent establishrnents, and the Travis Air Base, a permanent installation of the Air Forces. Civilian and military personnel of these defense activities will be eligible for the housing built under the relaxed credit terms.

Programmed for the area under the relaxed credit terrus are 480 rental units and 120 sales units.
