With the completion of the battery of four dry kilns, the new plant at Rounds, California, is now in position to care for practically any inquiry for redwood. The completely new plant, constructed last year, with a daily oneshift capacity of 150,000 feet, occupies about 44 acres' All of the equipment is entirely new and modern.

This plant affords a substantial increase in the volume of well manufactured, properly graded redwood produced by California Redwood Association rnills. All lumber is grade-marked in accordance with rules and under supervision of the California Redwood Association, of rvhich the sawmill is a member.

The exclusive sales agent for this plant and for the Rockport Redwood Company at Rockport, California (rvith its own stand of virgin timber to assure operation for many years to come) is the Rottnds Trading Company, 201 Crocker Building, San Francisco, and 110 West Ocean boulevard, Long Beach, California. This company was organized in 1939 by Ralph M. Rounds, president of the Rounds & Porter Lumber Company, Wichita, Kansas, and F. C'

Ricci & Kruse Lumber & Building Materials Co', San Francisco, recently completed a new shed and office. They haxe expanded their operation so that they can have on hancl arottnd 300,000 feet of dry lumber at all times.

The domestic u'holesale lumber business of the Rounds Trading Company, u'hich specializes not only in green and kiln-dried redrvood, but in Douglas fir, Ponderosa pine, Sugar pine, Red cedar shingles, etc., is handled by an experienced sales force, all well known to buyers of Pacific Coast lumber, including "Hac" Collins and "Dave" Davis, assisted by D. H. LeBreton at San Francisco, and Max R. Barnette rvho is in charge in Southern California. The field salesmen are Bob Smith, Jim Hennessy and Leigh I\IcWilliams. The officers of the Rounds Trading Company are Ralph M. Rounds, president; F. C. Kilpatrick, vice president; A. E. Wolff, vice president and manager, and R. W. Carlson, secretary.

The company's sales of lumber in 1949 totalled better than 75,000M' of all species of Pacific Coast lumber, shipped from California, Oregon and Washington and British Columbia, to buyers throughout the United States, and to Australia, South Sea Islands and other overseas markets.

Back Panel Company, Los Angeles, is now stocking in large quantities all species of hardwood plyrvood in all thicknesses and sizes as they did before the war.

They re,cently installed special racks for their hardwood ptywood.

Buys Grizzley Pcrk Lumber CorP.

West Oregon Lumber Co. has purchased the Grizzly Park Lumber Corp. at Blue Lake, Calif., and rvill operate it as the Mclntosh Lumber Co. The mill has a daily capacity of 100,000 feet per eight hour shift, and cuts mostly Douglas fir. Ken l\fclntosh is temporarily in charge.
