MILL worker who lost a finger in a woodworking machine one morning, came back in the afternoon with his hand all bound up to talk to the boss about it.

Reporter: "I've got a perfect news story."

City Editor: 'oThe man bit the dog, I suppose."

Reporter: "No, the bull threw the con*Bressman."

Visitor in jail: "What terrible crime has this man committed?"

Warden: "He didn't commit any crime. He was going down tlle street a few d4ys ago and happened to see one man shoot another and he's held as a material witness.t'

Visitor : "And where is the man who committed the murder ?"

Warden: "Oh, he's out on bail." &

"How much does that lawyer pay you?" asked the lawyer's office boy's friend.

"$50,000 a year," replied the kid, "Ten the rest in legal advice."

t*tt a week in cash and o'Impossible," he replied; "There may be robbers in the Senate, but in the Housenever!" o'All three."

The Congressman's wife awakened him at midnight, whisper' ing that there were robbers in the house.

"Is the boss in ?"

"Are you a salesman, a bill collector or a friend?"

"All right then; he is in conference; he is out of town; step rightin," * * *

The cracker had gotten a pair of shoes on "credick" by guar' anteeing the storekeeper that he would pay for them the very next time he came in the store. Some time later the storekeeper met the cracker on the street.

"Jethro," he saido "you haven't paid for that pair of shoes yet."

"But, Suh," replied Jethro, "dat debt ain't due yet."

"What do you mean, it isn't due?" asked the storekeeper. "Case ah ain't bin in de store yet," said Jethro.
