Bill Blackwell, 67, co-founder of B&C Lumber Co., Sparks, Nv., died of a heart attack Aug. 17 in Reno, Nv.

Born in Shawnee, Ok., he started with Peterson McCaslin Lumber Co., Reno, in the early 1950s and continued with the company after it became Nevada Wholesale. In 1973. he cofounded B&C Lumber.

W.E. "Ed" Davis, Jr., 65, Eastern Oregon Pine Co., Lakeview, Or., died Jlly 27 in Fresno, Ca.

He started in the packing sheds at General Box Distributors, Firebaugh, Ca., in the early 1950s. He served in Korea with the U.S. Marine Corps. Later he worked for Tarter, Webster & Johnson, Fresno, and became office manager. In 1964, he joined Eastern Oregon Pine Co.

David O. West, 46,lo9 truck driver for Wetsel/Oviatt Lumber Co., El Dorado Hills, Ca., died of brain cancer July 2 in Cameron Park, Ca.

A native of Placerville, Ca., he started as a lumber wholesaler for

Pacific Forest Products, Sacramento, Ca., in the early 1990s before joining Wetsel/Oviatt affiliate Offshore Lumber Imports, Sacramento, Ca., in 1995 as a wholesaler. He later became a driver for WetseVOviatt.

It is encouraging to read how much progress is being made. However, our address, listed under "Certified Sources." was very out of date.
