Western Building Material Associa. tion is staging a series of meetings July 25-28 at the Shilo Inn. Ocean Shores, Wa. Meeting will be the Young Westemers Committee, board of directors, executive board, WASI and Young Westerners, insurance/pension trust, and long range planning committees.

WBMA has appointed S.C. "Casey" Voorhees as its new executive director, succeeding Mary Murphy, who has retired. After working in the lumber industry for 17 years, Voorhees joined the association in l99l and has served as YWC coordinator since 1992.

Mountain States Lumber & Building Material Dealers Association will hold its annual fall management conference Oct. l-3 at the Beaver Run Resort, Breckenridge, Co.

Lumber Association of California & Nevada has hired Deborah Mattos, Mattos & Associates, as its legislative advocate. New to the office staff are Tracy Rubalcaba, who replaces Susan Bobbin as Jan Hansen's direct assistant, and part-timer Julie Rist.

The association will hold its second annual convention Nov. 12-14 at the Palm Springs Hilton. In addition to the vendor showcase, golf tournament and roundtable meetings, comedian Jim Pelley will present a "Laughter Works" seminar.
