WBMA has appointed S.C. "Casey" Voorhees as its new executive director, succeeding Mary Murphy, who has retired. After working in the lumber industry for 17 years, Voorhees joined the association in l99l and has served as YWC coordinator since 1992.

Lumber Association of California & Nevada has hired Deborah Mattos, Mattos & Associates, as its legislative advocate. New to the office staff are Tracy Rubalcaba, who replaces Susan Bobbin as Jan Hansen's direct assistant, and part-timer Julie Rist.
The association will hold its second annual convention Nov. 12-14 at the Palm Springs Hilton. In addition to the vendor showcase, golf tournament and roundtable meetings, comedian Jim Pelley will present a "Laughter Works" seminar.
