Lumber Assoclatlon of Southern Callfornlo's Second Growth will meet at the La Quinta Resod, L,a Quinta, Ca., July 15-17.

The meeting of the 40-years-of-ageand-under group is open to all members and potential members. Called the "Getaway at La Quinta" it will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 15, with wine, cheese and fellowship on the green, according to Todd Pollard, Gemini Forest Products.

The second day, Saturday, will be devoted to a 7 a.m. golf tournament followed by relaxation, a no host reception at 6:30 p.m. and a 7:15 dinner featuring Mark Denner, Swanson-Superior Forest Products, as speaker.

Sunday activities will begin at 9 am. with Murl Fast. Barr Lumber Co., Los Alarrritos, Ca., and Peter Ganahl, Ganhal Lumber Co., Anaheiru Ca., answering the question "Can We Survive in the New

Age of the Home Centers?"

The annual LASC fall conference will be held Nov. 6-9 dso at l-a Quinta Resort. Opening with a board of directors meeting, the agenda will include a golf toumament, group meetings and a speaker on Wednesday morning.

The format will allow those attending to return to their businesses on Wednesday afternoon and avoid the necessity of being away on Thursday and Friday which some consider extremely important workdays, according to Wayne Gardner.

APA Modifies Name

American Plywood Association, Tacoma, Wa., has amended its name to "APA - The Engineered Wood Association" to better reflect its expanding membership and future goals.

Since members are leaders in the glued engineered wood products field, it better describes who we are and what we do, president David L. Rogoway noted.
