Annual Arizona Lumber and Builders Supply Association is in the final planning stages for its 67th annual convention, May 13-14 at the Crescent Hotel in Phoenix.

Association president Michael O'Malley and convention chairman Don Hossack are organizing a lean, hard hitting event. Names of seminar leaders and the keynote luncheon speaker will be announced soon.

The second annual Bill Bell-Dean Drake memorial golf tournament will beco-sponsored by the Phoenix Hoo-Hoo Club on Friday, May 13. The annual steak fry on Friday evening has been scheduled for Bud Brown's Barn.

Steve Snavely and Bill Herman are co-chairmen for the annual Wholesalers Extravaganza Night which will close the convention on Saturday evening. They promise to continue the rich tradition which has helped to make ALBSA conventions memorable.

Stanline Bought By British Firm

Stanline. Inc., Norwalk, Ca., has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by a U.S. subsidiary of Bunzl, plc., a diversified British manufacturing and distribution company.

Under the cash merger, Stanline stockholders would receive $13.50 for each of the I .697.042 outstanding shares, or a total of $22.9 million.

Although the boards of directors of Stanline and Bunzl have approved the transaction, it will be subject to final approval by shareholders and other closure procedures.

The wholesale distributor of specialty building products serves California. Arizona and Nevada.

Alhambra Metal Products Sold

The Bel-Air Door Co. has sold most of the assets of its window division, Alhambra Metal Products, Alhambra, Ca., to North Star Co., Inc., a Gardena, Ca., custom metal roll forming company. No price was revealed in the transaction.

Alhambra-based Bel-Air will continue to manufacture its Bel-Air combination door line. Additionally, Bel-Air will maintain its importation and distribution of its exclusive line of entry doors, according to Samuel Fineman, president.
