James W. Anderson, district manager for Weyerhaeuser Corp., at the customer service center, Hayward, Ca., died of cancer on Feb. 14, 1982, in Palo Alto, Ca. He was 53.

Mr. Anderson started his career in the lumber industry at 18, working for Weyerhaeuser at Snoqualmie Falls, Wa., where both his parents were employed. He later entered sales, working in Mississippi and managing a district center in Cleveland, Ohio. He had been at Hayward for about 15 years.

A member of Hoo-Hoo International, a fraternal order of lumbermen, and the American Forestry Association, he is survived by his widow, Wanda.
