WWPA Meeting Returns to San Francisco

The Western Wood Products Association's annual meeting is heading to familiar territory this coming March when it returns to the Westin St. Francis Hotel in downtown San Francisco, Ca.

The March 2l-23 meeting also marks WWPA's 40th anniversary. "WWPA and the St. Francis have enjoyed a long tradition and the hotel has been a great host for the industry throughout the years. We are excited to be going back," said WWPA president Michael O'Halloran.

To commemorate 40 years of service, a special presentation will look back at how WWPA has developed into the largest western lumber trade organization and the impact it has had on the industry.

"Reaching 40 years of service is a tribute to the mills that have supported WWPA and believe in the valuable services that we deliver," said O'Halloran. "This is an important milestone and we look forward to another 40 years ofproviding the leadership, service and value that our mills have come to expect."

The gathering will also feature committee meetings, two luncheons, two receptions, a trade show, and a special 2005 lumber forecast update session conducted by Kevin Binam, WWPA director of economic services.

Following the success of last year's forum on eco-terrorism, WWPA is planning another special business session, this one to examine transportation issues.
