NEW SERIES of seminars for members of LAT will begin this month with an insurance and risk management workshop for owners and managers.
Jack McMahan, president of Insurance Management Services, Inc., will be the speaker at the 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. session on Oct. l0 at The Harvey Hotel, at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, Irving. Members will pay $175 with the fee for non-members set at $200.
Those attending will have the opportunity to stay overnight and attend a football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles at Texas Stadium on Oct. ll. A limited number of tickets are available through the LAT oflice for those attending the seminar.
Larry S. Willmann will be the instructor for basic estimating seminars Oct. l4l6 at the San Antonio Rodeway Atrium Inn and Nov. 4-6 at the Arlington Flagship Inn. The 20 hour course will teach the new employee or beginning estimator blueprint reading, construction details, quantity estimating and actual material takeoffs. Fees are $l75 for members and $200 for non-members.
Willmann is coordinator of the TSTI Estimating Program and chairman of Energy Efficient Building Systems at TSTI in Waco. A graduate of Texas A & M and TSTI. he has more than 15 years experience in the field.
Redwood '87 seminars will be held Dec. 2 at Wyndham Creenspoint, Houstonl Dec. 3. Rodeway Atrium Inn, San Antonio, and Dec. 4, DFW Airport Harvey Hotel, lrving. Sponsored by the California Redwood Association and LAT, the morning sessions will acquaint owners. managers and key sales staff with the diverse properties and immense sales potential of redwood. Fees are t50 per person for members and $75 for non-members.
The association has a growing, tape loan library. In addition to an LAT Credit Conference cassette, there are I I 3/4" VHS video tapes available for borrowing at no charge.
