Lumbermen's Assoclrtlon of Texrs named llarbara l)ouglas executive vice president at a special meeting of the executive commiltee.

With the association for three and a half years as executive assistant, exhibit sales director, and acting executive vice president for eight months, Ms. l)ouglas is the first female executive of the 103 year old organization.

LAT is also renovating its head' quarters burldrng, tn Austtn.

Under the direction of Tom Hanover, Hanover Building Materials, Round Rock, chairman of the LAT Building Renovation committee, the work is scheduled to take place over the next few months. Negley Paint Co. has donated paint for the projejct. Contributions of other materials are being sought.

Oklahoma Lumbermen's Association has selected lxtapa on the Pacific coast of Mexico as the destination for its mid-winter trip.

Travelers will leave Dallas on Jan.26, stay for lour nights at the Delux Krystal Ixtapa Hotel and return to Dallas on Jan. 29.

New Wood Door Standard

The Wood Moulding & Millwork Producers Association has revised "WM 8-83 Industry Standard 20Minute Fire-Rated Wood Door Frames" to include edge-glued door frames. The standard will now be called WM 8-89 Industry Standard 20Minute Fire-Rated Wood Door Frames.

The standard establishes minimum requirements for wood door frames and sets minimum tolerances so that the use of any or all of the following would be acceptable by the standard: denser wood, a wider frame, or a narrower door opening.

Seminars To Promote PWF

The Wood Foundation Institute is organizing a series of seminars to promote the advancement of the Permanent Wood Foundation. Plans for these and other promotional activities were initiated at a recent board meeting, according to Ed J. Springer, executive secretary of the Toledo, Ia., based organization.
