Higher Bid For Cameron Ashley
The management-led investment group has raised its offer to buy Cameron Ashley Building Products, Dallas, Tx., by more than 2O7o to $18.25 a share, or more than $345 million.
The group increased its initial bid after receiving unsolicited offers from distributor Bradco Supply and manufacturer/wholesaler Guardian Industries (see March, p. 20). While weighing Guardian's offer, the 165-unit distributor was accused by some shareholders of unfairly favoring the first bidders, among them about 30 senior managers.
