Automatlc Llght Swllch

The Programmable Light Switch from BRK Electronics is an automatic lighting clntrol.

-With push button opcration, it replaces standard light switches while iombining a microprocessor'based programmable timer, quartz digitd ilock. on/off switch and touch dimmer in a singlc unit.

The switch also has hiddcn controls, one-button progam review, power failure protection, and a mode indicator that denotes whether a controlled light is on or off.

Resin impregnated overlays are bonded by heat and pressure to exterior grade plywood with a woodgrain texture embossed into the overlaY during bonding.

The clear textured surface, takes paint or solid color stain finishes,reportedly holding it up to three times longer than raw wood. Lightweight for one person application, the panels can be applied directly to the studs.

A variety of patterns are available in 4'x8' and 4'x9' panels.

Cheery Cherry Cabinets

A new series of solid cherrYwood kitchen cabinets with matching buffets, bathroom vanities and medicine cabinets are from the Guildmark Corp.

In several styles, they are made of cheny hardwood frames and doors, with cherry veneer sides.

Included in the built-in oven line are nine single and double ?4" and 27" electric units and two Z" gas models. The cooktop line features two 33 ".models, one gas and one electric,and two 42" gourmet cooking centers available in both electric and g:ls.

High Tech Insulation

Insul-Tray Inc.'s new multi-Purpose insulating system is approved for the United States Department of Energy and Canadian National Weatherization progr:rms.

Available in a high strength, water resistant, corrugated cardboard panel manufactured in 4' lengths and sizes to fit construction widths, it can be stapled or nailed to building framing members to provide a Permanent, positive and controllable cavity for iontainment of blown insulation. It is designed to be used in vaulted ceilings, under floors and on flat roofs.

Now in Uniform Building Code Flame Spread Classification Class I and Class II it will satisfy all building code requirements. It can reduce the size of lumber used in vaulted ceilings and flat roofs by providing a higher "R" value than is possible with batt products. It also provides the l" air space above insulation required by building codes.

Dryrng to a bright aluminized finish in an hour, the waterproof formula contains no asbestos or lead. The finish covers cracks and holes to 3/16'. lt can be sprayed on either a wet or dry surface.

Energy Saving Steps

Insuladder from European American Building Products, Inc., comes in one complete piece with built-in frame, hatch and ladder. The casing frame is equipped with fitting springs. The hatch, which is insulated with R-10 rockwool, is sealed with EPDM rubber strips and has a double lock bolt operated by a removable Allen key.

A ladder installed during the construction of a new home is said to pay for itself through energy savings in about one year while remodelers will have three years before it pays for itself. Federal or state tax credits could shorten the payback period in a recent installation.

Lighting The Way

Diablo Technologies' Good Nite Light, Power Alert, and Night Eye have UL listing and carry a one year warranty.

The Good Nite Light, an automatic night light that turns on at dusk and off at dawn, uses only seven watts. The photoelectric cell and a 10090 solid state circuit virtually eliminates flickering.

Power Alert goes on in a power failure. It plugs into any electrical outlet to provide added safety. Its reflector design shines the light out and down for safety. Also, it turns into a rechargeable flashlight.When it isplugged in and placed on its "auto" setting, a small orange light will go on indicating the power is on and the batteries are charging. Unplugged and switched to the "on" setting, it can be used as a flashlight. Fully charged, it provides continuous bright light up to 60 minutes.

Wood Lighting Help?

Wood lighting standards from the J.H. Baxter Co. come in curved pole, straight top or side mounted poles with either single or double crossarm models.

These poles are designed to fit in with landscaping and residential developments. Laminated from Pacific Coast Douglas fir, they age and look like drift wood after a few years. Designs are reportedly environmentally compatible and can adapt to varied building conditions.
