Nels Edwin "Whitey" Hallstrom, a director of East Coast Lumber & Supply Co., Fort Pierce, Fl., died Dec. 4. 1987. in Fort Pierce. He was 80.

Born in Viking, Fl., he joined East Coast as a yardworker in 1925, climbing to manager in the 1930's. After service in World War II, he returned to the company as general manager, later promoted to treasurer and then vice president. He also served as president of the Florida Lumber & Building Material Dealers Association from 1970 to 1971.

Mr. Hallstrom is survived by two sons, a sister, and a granddaughter.

William Kerr Macdonald Jr., former owner and president of Virginia Beach Lumber & Supply Co., Virginia Beach, Va., died Dec. 16, 1987, in Virginia Beach. He was 7t.

A native of Hempstead, Long Island. N.Y.. Mr. Macdonald is survived by his widow, Harriet, two daughters, four sons, a sister, and 10 grandchildren.

Roger Williams, owner of the Piedmont Lumber Co., The Plains, Va., died Dec. 8, 1987, from heart failure in Manassas, Va. He was 54.

A lifelong resident of The Plains, he joined Piedmont in his 20s, later purchasing the company in the early 1970s. He also served as Virginia Building Material Association's national director to the National

Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association and was a member of Hoo-Hoo International, the lumbermen's fraternity.

Mr. Williams is survived by his widow, Charlotte, his mother, a daughter, a brother, and a sister.

Alfred L. Carter, vice president of James River Building Supply Co., Sandston, Va., died of cancer Dec. 8, 1987. in Richmond. Va. He was 55.

A native of Caroline County, Va., he was graduated from Richmond Business College and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as v.p. at the former Spotless Home Centers, Richmond, for 25 years before joining James River seven years ago.

Mr. Carter is survived by his widow, Joan, a son, three daughters, six brothers, a sister, and four grandchildren.

Patricia Ailstock-Iscaro. a sales representative for Boise Cascade Corp., Jacksonville, Fl., died Dec. 10, 1987, in a car accident in Jacksonville. She was 41.

Born in Gainesville, Fl., she was graduated from the University of Florida and joined Boise Cascade five years ago.

Mrs. Ailstock-lscaro is survived by her widower, Michael, her parents, a daughter, a son, and three sisters.

Kenneth E. Hollon, a salesman at 84 Lumber Co., London, Ky., died in a car accident in London on Dec. 9, 1987, his 23rd birthday.

Mr. Hollon is survived by his parents, a brother, two sisters, and his grandmother.
