Soulhern Forest Products Association members have voluntarily increascd their association dues to launch the biggest marketing effort in the history of the southern pine industry.

A goal of a 1090 increase by the endof this decade has been set. According to William B. Canser, Jr., presidenr of the association, members are paying an additional 50 per thousand board feet of'production to fund a $450,000 advertising, promotion and public relations campaign annually for the next five years.

Louisiana Building Material Dealers Association members attending their annual convention, Feb. 7-10 ar the Lafayette Hilton Hotel, Lafayette, La., will hear Dave Petitjean, a Cajun humorist, speak. His prescntation will include stories and events of the south Louisiana Cajun counlry.

Carl Dill, a former lumber dealer from New Milford, Cr., will be a seminar speaker, explaining "How To Improvc Your Marketing and Advertising Withour Increasing Your Dollars."

The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association will hold its 13th annual conference with Congress, March 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency Capital Hill, Washington, D.C.

Topics expected to be covered will in- clude flat rate tax, federal deficit, balanced budget and tax reform.

Members of the southeastern associations will join lumber and building marerials dealers from all over the country at this event, participating in briefings and meeting with their Washington representatlvcs.

Barring unforeseen complications and unanticipated changes, show date schedule for the next six years at the International Trade Center Building is as follows:
