Sandiacre-based Lovell helps Morgan Sindall Group’s results Affordable housing, regeneration and maintenance specialist Lovell, which has local offices at Bostocks Lane, Sandiacre, has contributed to a resilient set of preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2011, released today (21 February 2012) by its parent, construction and regeneration company Morgan Sindall Group plc. Against a backdrop of challenging trading conditions Morgan Sindall Group delivered a resilient performance in 2011. Profit before tax, amortisation and non-recurring items was £45.3 million (2010: £51.3 million) with revenue up six per cent at £2,227 million (2010: £2,102 million). Adjusted earnings per share were 82.5p (2010: 92.9p), with no change to the total dividend which remains at 42.0p (2010: 42.0p). The Group’s forward order book currently stands at £3.4 billion (2010: £3.6 billion) with a growing regeneration pipeline of £1.8 billion (2010: £1.4 billion), and a further £0.6 billion of regeneration schemes at preferred developer stage. Lovell has contributed to these results by working with housing associations and local authorities to deliver successful affordable housing developments, major housing refurbishment schemes, response maintenance services and regeneration programmes. The company’s order book stands at £1.5 billion (2010: £1.5 billion). Key projects for Lovell in the region include: • A £9 million development of 95, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes in Stonebridge Park, Nottingham, for housing and regeneration group LHA-ASRA as part of a major estate redevelopment. • A £5.2 million sustainable homes development to provide 38, threeand four-bedroom homes for open market sale for Blueprint in the Green Street / Fraser Road area of The Meadows, Nottingham. The properties will meet Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. • A £1.9 million scheme to carry out fire prevention works to high-rise blocks of flats for Nottingham City Homes in Nottingham. • A £20 million, four-year Decent Homes scheme with social housing provider Three Oaks Homes to upgrade residents’ properties with new kitchens, bathrooms, electrics and heating in the Blaby district of Leicestershire. “Following the completion of high profile acquisitions in 2010, which helped to substantially grow our repairs and maintenance business, 2011 has been a year of integration and growth for Lovell. Our revenue rose by 19 per cent to £462 million (2010: £387 million) which is a testimony to the hard work of Lovell staff and our clients valuing the complete repairs, refurbishment, new build and mixed tenure housing offer that we now provide,” says Lovell managing director Stewart Davenport. “Lovell also continued to invest in land for mixed tenure regeneration schemes in 2011 and we are now seeing solid returns on these investments. We look forward to building on the work we completed in 2011 and driving further growth in 2012.”
