Father’s Day Celebrations
Sylvan Woods held a special Father’s day celebration back in September. The day began at 10:30am with the Birkdale School Choir performing for residents and family at a morning tea. Students exchanged gifts with residents swapping knitted rugs for gift bags filled with chocolates put together in craft sessions.
Entertainment continued throughout the afternoon with dancers and an instrumental band. Popular solo artist Jim performed for residents while they enjoyed their favourite dairy classic ice cream. Residents were tireless when it came to making table decorations. Craft sessions are held every
Monday morning where all creations are prepared and used for Sylvan Wood’s monthly special events. Father’s Day is just one of these special occasions where the children really enjoy their visits to the Home with residents and family members always looking forward to their return.
