CAPTAINS ROSTER
The Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame was established in 1979 to recognize the very best in the history of Bucknell Athletics. The Hall of Fame now numbers 217 all-time Bison greats. Seven members of the Hall played for the women’s lacrosse team.
Tricia Way ‘94
Way was the first woman athlete in Bucknell history to earn allconference honors five times. She was a three-time All-Patriot League selection in women’s lacrosse and a two-time honoree in field hockey. She co-captained the 1993 field hockey team and was a two-year captain in lacrosse. As a midfielder in field hockey, she registered five goals and three assists and was the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete in 1992. Entered Hall of Fame with the Class of 2006.
Margaret Philleo Ricci ‘79
Ricci was one of Bucknell’s top woman athletes of her era, competing in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. She played four years of lacrosse and as a junior was named to the AllCentral Pennsylvania second team. Entered Hall of Fame with the Class of 2002.
Pam Heller Shassian ‘78
Shassian was one of the pioneers of the women’s varsity lacrosse program at Bucknell and served as the team’s cocaptain her senior year. In addition, she played field hockey and basketball for the Bison. Entered Hall of Fame with the Class of 2000.
Sue Gray Behringer ‘84
One of the most prolific scorers in Bucknell women’s lacrosse history, Behringer graduated with eight school records, including most career goals (127). She was named All-East Coast Conference, and was invited to try out for the U.S. Women’s Lacrosse Association national team. She captained both the women’s lacrosse and field hockey teams while at Bucknell. Entered Hall of Fame with the Class of 1996.

Kathy Kline Grove ‘80
A four-year starter in field hockey and member of the women’s lacrosse team, Grove was a 1980 nominee for the Broderick Award, which honors the outstanding female collegiate athlete in the country. She still ranks second in Bucknell field hockey history with 46 career goals and 103 career points. Entered Hall of Fame with the Class of 1994.
Barbara Castens-Seidell ‘79
A co-captain of the basketball and field hockey teams and one of the first two women elected to the Hall of Fame, Castens-Seidell was also a member of the women’s lacrosse team at Bucknell. Entered Hall of Fame with the Class of 1985.
Karin Wegener Knisely ‘79
One of the first two women elected to the Hall of Fame, Knisely was Bucknell’s first three-sport (field hockey, basketball and lacrosse) captain in 40 years. She set scoring records in field hockey and lacrosse. Entered Hall of Fame with the Class of 1985.
