he Buckley School is a dynamic, nurturing learning community committed to equity and inclusion. Our innovative teachers and challenging programs inspire creativity, courage, and collaboration. By promoting a balanced development of mind, body, and character, we encourage each student to find joy and meaning in life and make an impact in the world.
Founded in 1933 by Isabelle Buckley, The Buckley School is the oldest K–12, independent, all gender day school in Los Angeles. Dr. Buckley developed the 4-Fold Plan of Education: equal emphasis on Academics, the Arts, Athletics, and Moral Education. These four pillars remain the foundation of our school and are continually updated to reflect current research in teaching, brain science, diversity, and a globalized world.
A SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL OF OUR DONORS!
Since its founding in 1933, The Buckley School has relied upon the generosity of its community to foster the growth of its Griffins. A robust and reliable annual fund helps offset the costs of a Buckley education and keeps tuition increases lower. For more than 90 years, these efforts have ensured that we are able to go above and beyond for our students, faculty, and alumni—ensuring our Griffins become Architects of the Future.
The generosity of our community allows for students to connect with one another, expand upon their curiosity, and gain a sense of excitement for new discoveries. Unrestricted donations to the Buckley Fund ensure that Buckley has the resources that allow our faculty and staff to provide the most relevant and compelling Buckley experience to all 830 students. Our restricted donors designated their gifts to financial aid, faculty and staff professional development, DEI, program and technology, the visual arts, and the media program.
The Buckley School is deeply grateful to the parents and guardians, alumni, faculty and staff, and friends who have supported the 2023–2024 Buckley Fund. Your contributions make an immediate impact on the people and programs that shape the bright futures of our students.
Thank you!

We are incredibly thankful to our most dedicated donors who have given to The Buckley Fund for five consecutive years or more! We are delighted to recognize these important partners with a red or gray Griffin throughout the Annual Report. Those marked with a red GriffinA have given consecutively for five to nine years. Those with a gray GriffinA have been donors for ten consecutive years or more! Thank you for your long standing support of our students!

GENERAL ENDOWMENT
The Buckley School’s general endowment is a significant source of support for the school and its mission. A gift to the endowment secures Buckley’s future and supports investments in the school’s infrastructure, faculty and professional development, student-centered programs and technology, and most importantly, financial aid for new and continuing students.
Kimberly and Eric Biddle ’94 A Dan Harries and Andrew Fayé A
SENIOR CLASS LEGACY FUND DONORS
Each year, parents are asked to support the Senior Class Legacy Fund to honor their graduating senior, and to support the general endowment at Buckley. Founded in 2006, the Senior Class Legacy Fund continues to grow as alumni give in honor of their class year and as subsequent classes establish their own legacy funds. The combined impact for future generations of Buckley students will be tremendous.

JORDAN WEISS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Weiss family established the Jordan Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor their son, who passed away suddenly during his senior year. The scholarship fund celebrates Jordan and ensures his great sense of humor, energy, loyalty, and embodiment of the Buckley Commitment are always remembered. Annual financial aid awards are granted to students who embody the qualities central to Jordan’s character and who otherwise might not have the chance to attend The Buckley School. The first Jordan Weiss Memorial Scholarship Fund grant was made in the 2013–2014 school year.

MARGARET MASON ENDOWMENT FUND
I
t can be said that the heart of the Buckley community lies within its dedicated teachers—and none other than beloved teacher Dr. Margaret Mack Mason. As world languages department chair, she truly embodied the depth and soul of the Buckley commitment and what it meant to be an exceptional educator.
Buckley’s world languages department thrived under the leadership of Dr. Margaret Mason for more than 20 years. Having arrived at Buckley in 1983, Dr. Mason’s presence was felt everywhere on campus. She taught French, English, Humanities and went on to work for College Counseling.
Today Dr. Mason’s rich legacy lives on through her incredible bequest to Buckley. Through her generosity, the Margaret Mason Endowment Fund for Professional Development was established in 2019. Her gift, combined with the additional match from a handful of Buckley families, grows each year, and will leave an impact on generations of Buckley students to come.

very year the opportunity for students to receive a Buckley education grows thanks to your generosity. Creating a diverse community with students that range in socioeconomic backgrounds enriches the overall educational experience Buckley offers, cultivating compassion and gratitude, and inspiring all students to reach for the stars. During the 2023–24 school year, 19% of the student body received financial aid and tuition remission. The Buckley community is grateful for your donations to our financial aid program which made this possible.
