Program Guidelines and Registration • A BTPD registration form must be submitted along with a copy of a birth certificate and a $35 non-refundable administration fee. • Children must be of the appropriate age required for each program. • A current immunization form will be required for students before the first day of attendance. • All children must be able to take care of their own bathroom needs. Diapers are not acceptable.

Early Learning Station Preschool Programs The Early Learning Station program promotes an environment that fosters critical thinking, problem solving skills, and social development taught through alphabet and thematic units. The experiences are both educational and recreational, which aid in social, physical, intellectual and emotional growth. Qualified experienced teachers instruct the sessions. Illinois Early Learning Standards are applied to curriculum lessons. The Program focuses on the whole child and incorporates the 7 domains of learning which include: Personal & Social Development, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Fine Arts and Physical Development and Health with Hands-On lesson plans and activities. Sign up early, classes are limited to allow for a low studentteacher ratio. Children must be toilet independent prior to the first day of class. PROGRAM OPTIONS 3-4 YEAR OLD PROGRAM The 3 year old thematic based program is designed for one of a child’s first experiences in a “school” setting. Our program will stress socialization, cooperative play, fine motor skills, sharing and following directions, and the beginnings of letter and name recognition.

4-5 YEAR OLD PROGRAM The 4 year old phonics based curriculum will help develop the academic and social skills needed for entering kindergarten in area school districts. Our program stresses the development of independence and academic skills through learning centers, structured activities, socialization, cooperative play and dramatic play and sharing.

Early Morning Round Up

This program involves low key activities like reading stories or just relaxing with a favorite toy. Breakfast can be provided or sent from home. Transportation is also available for those heading off to school. Registrations must be in by 2:00 p.m. on the previous day in order to participate in the program or approval from a supervisor. $10 registration fee required.

Why are there age limits?

In order to provide your child with the best possible experience, all of our programs are planned according to the ages listed in our brochure. Our instructors are sensitive to the needs of the individual age levels. Children must be the age listed for each program by the date the program begins, unless otherwise specified.

Play and Learn This class if designed for morning or afternoon preschoolers who would benefit from additional activities. The class includes many types of recreational activities. Lunch can be purchased for an additional fee. Transportation provided to and from schools. Child must attend a school located within Bourbonnais Township. Children must be toilet independent prior to the first day of class. Can be combined with Afternoon Adventure. Registrations must be in by 2:00 p.m. on the previous day in order to participate in the program or approval from a supervisor. $10 registration fee required. Creative Cookies

The instructor will guide your child through fun activities that will help develop their independence. Different themes will be introduced through the season. Socializing, learning to share, playing games and listening to stories will be included in the programs. Child must be 2 by January 15, 2013. Parents do not stay for class.

Transportation

Transportation is available for Active Adults to our Munch & Mingle Program and to all of our evening Active Adult programs. If you are in need of this service, please sign up at any of our facilities. Be sure to fill out the Active Adult Transportation form with directions to your home. You will receive a phone call from the BTPD a couple of days before pick up to let you know what time we will be there. There is a $5 round trip fee. 50+ Programs Starved Rock Canal Boat & Trolley Tour

We’ll begin with a delicious hot lunch at the famous Starved Rock Lodge. Next, we’ll board a trolley for a ride through historic downtown Utica and stop to shop. The trolley will then take us on a relaxing ride to LaSalle where we’ll board the canal boat. Step back into time with period-dressed interpreters on this one-hour mule-pulled canal boat ride. The day will end with a visit at the Starved Rock State Park Visitor Center.

An Afternoon with Robert E. Lee

Join us for an afternoon of history, reflection and perspective at the Joliet Area Historical Museum. Journey back in time for “An Afternoon with Robert E. Lee.” We will explore the museum, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch including a variety of entrees, soup de jour, salad, and desserts, with the afternoon culminating in a presentation by Robert Mestas, of Mestas Musicals, as Robert E. Lee, sharing Lee’s perspective on the Civil War and demonstrating authentic relics and artifacts.
