January. In their project, entitled 'Moto Xtra Safe' they developed a unique design that aided the safety of anyone driving a quad bike. The students had carried out research into the cause of accidents from the riding of quad bikes, a popular activity in their area. From their research, three principle reasons of serious injury from quad bike accidents were identified, namely driving without a helmet; pillion passengers falling from rear of bike; and bike continuing to run after a rider had fallen from bike in an accident resulting in rider being rolled over. The project then provided safety measures to prevent these types of accidents from happening.

Analog Devices also recognises the dedication and hard work of the educator through its sponsorship of the Analog Devices Educator of Excellence Award. This award is presented to the teacher whose commitment and encouragement has consistently enables their students to participate successfully in the technology section at the exhibition .
