THE IMPORTANT ROLE OF THE BUSINESS ANALYST Business analysts are responsible for analyzing the needs of their clients and stakeholders to help determine solutions to business problems. A key facilitator in the project management process, the business analyst serves as a liaison between the business side of an enterprise and the information technology department or external service providers. Common alternate titles are business systems analyst, systems analyst, and functional analyst. Learn Business Analysis and prepare for IIBA Certification. The IIBA has four levels of certification.
