Alan and Jennie (Burleson) ’02 Velasquez welcomed their third child, Emma Sophia, on June 22, 2020. Jennie and Alan married in Guatemala in 2010, and they now have 3 daughters (Bonnie, Amelia, & Emma). After 14 years serving as missionaries in Guatemala, the family has now transitioned to the US to pursue citizenship for Alan.

Austin ’09 & Christie Hubbard rejoice in the birth of their first son, Michael Wesley. He was born on June 11, 2020. Cathy Shaw ’15 married Adam Forsberg on July 11, 2020 in Maryland. Cathy is the daughter of Tom & Carolyn Shaw, who worked at Bryan several years ago.

Allie Boggess ’16 married Mauricio Segovia Zeballos on July 25, 2020. Allie and Mauricio reside in Dallas, GA.

Mariam Wood ’17, married Brett Nash on December 14, 2018. Two years later, they welcomed Lloyd James Nash on March 5, 2020. The Nash family resides in Sparta, TN where Brett works for J&S Construction. Luke ’17 & Abigail (Weir) ’18 Bates are residing in Greensboro, NC. Abby works as a CNA at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Emily Terszakowec ’16 married Nathan Lundquist on May 2, 2020. They were married at Mint Springs behind Emily’s home church. Just their two families and mentors were present— and two Peruvian llamas who crashed the party! Jacqui Gonzalez ’16 married Brandon Dyer on June 28, 2016. Jacqui is the daughter of Mary Kirtley ’79 and Carlos Gonzalez, and granddaughter of the late Charles ’51 and Loretta Craig ’55 Kirtley. The couple now live in Cordova, Alaska where they have the privilege of serving as pastors of The Little Chapel, the same church they were married in. Brandon and Jacqui announce the birth of their first child, Franklin, on June 8, 2020. Fun fact: many members of Jacqui’s family attended Bryan: Great Uncle Jim Kirtley ’53 and Great Aunt Edythe Kirtley ’54, Aunt Martha Kirtley Nichols ’78 and Uncle Timothy Kirtley ’84, and Jacqui’s brothers, Andrew “George” Gonzalez ’08 and Jason “Mexi” Gonzalez ’14.

Tori Smith ’15 married Calvin Alverez on August 3, 2019. They reside in New Carrollton, Maryland. Tori is the daughter of Conrad and Dottie (Long) ’84 Smith. Calvin and Tori are proud to announce the birth of their first child, Lucas, born on September 13, 2020.

Philip ’10 and Natalie (McGehee) ’11 Meznar announce the birth of their second child, Mason, born on July 3, 2020. Mason joins older brother Matthew. The Meznars reside in Kansas City, MO. Ryan & Beth (Simon) ’07 Knauer announce the birth of their fourth child Miles, born on March 7, 2021. Miles joins big brothers Joey (7) and Asher (4) and big sister Laurel (2). The family moved to Hickory, NC in Fall 2018.

Grace Loe ’17 married James Munteanu on August 15, 2020. The couple resides in Denton, TX.

Everett ’17 and Kimberly (Meadors) ’17 Sell announce the birth of their first child, Levi James, born on June 5, 2020. Everett & Kim reside in Millington, TN. John ’14 and Sarah (Hamrick) ’15 Glenn announce the birth of Laurel Kate, born on September 21, 2020. Laurel joins brothers Liam & Oliver. John and Sarah reside in Knoxville, TN.

Katie Baker ’18 married Gus Pearson on October 20, 2020. The couple resides in Chattanooga, TN. Brittany McGehee ’09 married Jonathan Patrick Welch on March 30, 2019 in her hometown of Ruston, LA. Natalie (McGehee) Meznar ’11 was Matron of Honor, Rachel Welch ’09 was Maid of Honor and Laura Neises ’09 served as a bridesmaid. Philip Meznar ’10 was a groomsman. Several other Bryan alumni traveled down south for the festivities, including Lindsay (Matlock) Lara ’09 and Anna (Downer) Youngs ’09. Jonathan and Brittany had the joy of welcoming their first born son, Joseph Jonathan Welch, on July 23, 2020.
