ABMA’s Florida Trip Looks Toward

The Virtual Future On March 19-22, 2024 the American Brush Manufacturers Association (ABMA) will hold its 107th Annual Convention at the Omni Resort, Amelia Island, Florida. This event features a motivational gathering of brush industry leaders and the opportunity to make new face-to-face contacts and potential business networking opportunities. Notable for the 2024 convention is a modified schedule that effectively rolls the event one day forward compared to past years. Traditionally, the core portion of the event ran Wednesday through Friday. To better manage costs and accommodate travel, the 2024 edition will run Tuesday through Thursday. The Tuesday convention will kick off a program facilitated by the ABMA Emerging Leaders that will feature concurrent Educational Workshops from 2:305:00 p.m. Those workshops include: • Mental Health and Well-Being in the Workplace • Data and Device Security • Attracting Talent to Smaller Companies

Keynote: Virtualization of America and the World On Wednesday, March 20, the ABMA Educational Institute will host a keynote speech on “The Virtualization of America — and the World” by Michael Rogers, a best-selling author, technology pioneer and futurist, who also recently served two years as futurist-in-residence for The New York Times and is currently a columnist for NBC.com. His Practical Futurist consultancy has worked with companies ranging from FedEx, Boeing and NBC Universal to Microsoft, Pfizer and Siemens, focusing on how companies can think about the future in useful ways. Rogers began his career as a writer for Rolling Stone and went on to co-found Outside magazine. He then launched Newsweek’s technology column, winning numerous journalism awards, including a “National Headliner Award” for coverage of the Chernobyl meltdown. His work in interactive media ranges from early ground-breaking projects for LucasFilm and Apple to dozens of internet ventures. He has received patents for multimedia storytelling techniques and is listed in “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.” He is also a best-selling novelist whose fiction explores the human impact of technology. His most recent book, “Email from the Future: Notes from 2084,” offers a visionary glimpse into the world of tomorrow, blending real business experience with deep technological insight. Two bridges connecting Amelia Island and Big Talbot Island.
