I serve as the Executive Director of the Bucks County Foundation. As a community foundation, we are a public charity that focuses on supporting the programs and people of Bucks County, primarily by working with generous donors to establish funds, such donor advised funds and scholarship funds, that, in turn, provide funding to address community needs, support local nonprofits with grants and provide scholarships to Bucks County students. Fundamentally, we help donors plan and carry out their charitable giving,

2.) What is the favorite thing about the work you do?

I am a Connector personality style. Through my work for the Foundation, I absolutely love

There are too many to select from! I have read meaningful books in all stages of my life for personal and professional enrichment. For fun, I will throw the answer back to one of the books that inspired my love of reading as a young girl - Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White. For me, Charlotte’s Web inspired life lessons about friendship and diversity; the importance of being humble; and love and loss. I still have the first copy of Charlotte’s Web that I read as a girl on my bookshelf- a bit tattered and worn, but well loved.

4.) What is your favorite movie and why?

Like books, there are too many to pick just one favorite!

I do love pshyco-thriller movies: Misery, The Shining, Get Out. I’ll watch anything by John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Stanley Kubrick, Stephen King, M. Night Shyamalan, James Wan or Shirley Jackson.

5.) If you could be an animal, what would you be and why?

I would definitely be a dog, specifically our family dog. She gives love and receives love unconditionally.

Three Little Birds by Bob Marley & The Wailers

10.) When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a teacher growing up. In fact, my undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education, but I never taught in a classroom full time. I went right into nonprofit work after graduation and then went on to get my master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership from LaSalle University.

11.) What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

My full name is Amanda, but I always, personally and professionally, go by Mandy.

12.) What are your three pieces of advice?

- Take the chances!

- Assume the best in others.

- Be genuine.

QUESTIONS ABOUT MONEY? DAVE IN DOYLESTOWN CAN HELP!

to meet clients closer to their home towns. The idea was to have at least one office location within easy traveling distance of their client base, so that they could, in essence, come to their clients rather than having their clients come to them. It’s just one iteration of the team’s core philosophy of maintaining personal and long-lasting relationships.

Management, Dave can address them that much more effectively.

“The due diligence and the research on the investment side seems much deeper at Planning Capital,” Dave says. “They also offer cash-flow planning, and not specifically goal-based planning, so you can change with life’s changes.”

Doylestown local Dave Emery spends most of his day answering questions about money. As a Senior Financial Planner for Planning Capital Management, Dave works out of a cozy office space right on East Court Street.

It’s the fourth office the team has opened since 2020, when a year of working-fromhome led them to completely rethink the traditional office model. After reducing the size of their office space in Center City, Philadelphia, they opened up several intimate office locations in Philadelphia, Radnor, and Doylestown, PA and Marlton, NJ

Of late, Dave’s newer clients’ concerns have centered around whether, in the current market and economic conditions, they will have enough money. After years of hard work and saving, will they now have enough to retire and keep their current lifestyle? Will they have enough to educate their kids and take care of aging parents? If a divorce is imminent, will they have enough to accommodate separate lives now that the kids have moved to college?

When addressing his clients’ needs with the support and teamwork of Planning Capital

Dave has had years of experience helping clients manage the costs of higher education, care for aging parents, set and meet retirement goals, and navigate divorces. He holds the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) designation, in addition to his CFP® certification.

Now, Dave is proud to be a member of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, where he hopes to help fellow Doylestown residents manage their wealth wisely and in a way that will set them up for success through all of life’s ups and downs.

The devilish Don pursues women all over Europe, leaving a trail of broken hearts and shattered lives. A ghostly encounter ensures that this devil gets his due! AVA first presented Don Giovanni in 1986-87 and continued with performances in 2000, 2005, 2011 and 2015 which featured many alumni who have gone on to significant professional careers. Street, Dublin. Maintaining and repurposing age-old structures, beloved by the community was part of Loughery’s goal to preserve the history and integrity of Dublin, while bringing new life and new businesses to the area. In total, the Dublin Town Center development has been responsible for $40 million of investment in the borough. Economic vitality is something Loughery is no stranger to, having served as a Bucks County commissioner from 2011 to 2020. During his tenure, Loughery led efforts to reorganize the county’s housing, economic and community development departments, which helped lead to new investment in municipalities and improved access to affordable housing for veterans and individuals with disabilities.

Dublin Town Center, Deal of the Year in the category Retail and Hospitality: Retail Development More than a dozen parcels were assembled to create a 17-acre site upon which the Dublin Town Center has been developed. The Central Bucks County town center, just over six miles from Doylestown, has created a robust mixed-use community that includes 78 Ryan Homes townhomes, a 45,000-square-foot mixeduse building with 30 apartments and 7,000 square feet of retail space, plus several adaptive reuses. Those included are The Square, a former industrial building that’s been converted into offices, retail and dining space, and The Station, a 1930s gas station restored into a brewpub and food hall. Grand View Health also occupies 15,000 square feet of space at the site. The master plan has taken Nehemiah Development about four years to complete and has created a link between Doylestown and Quakertown.
