You may have asked yourself why use a travel agent in a time of online availability of just about everything. Think quality and service. Following the pandemic, we have seen a lot of increased pent-up demand in travel, both domestically and internationally, and you may have seen that costs for accommodations and flights have surged. The prime international travel destinations this year are Italy, UK, France and Greece. While availability on some travel dates, especially in summer of 2023, are becoming scarce, Travel Agents may still be able to find you an excellent offer. We have also seen a substantial uptick in other closer travel destinations like the Caribbean, including Mexico, offering good weather year-round with often beautiful blue skies and warm temperatures. Alaska is always a favorite; however, they have a limited season. So, if you haven’t already booked you need to do it now, so you are not disappointed.

Looking for a few travel tips to ease your travel woes this year? Book early and expect to pay more than you did previously and have a plan B as availability is scarce. Flights are particularly expensive.

Be patient. Travel vendors are overwhelmed with demand, so responses are way longer than normal.

Take advantage of cruise line promotions. They really do help!

New to cruising? Choose a cabin on the lower deck’s midship which helps with seasickness.

Take the first flight out. Those are the least likely to be delayed.

Start shopping for 2024. Lock in your vacation now to take advantage of today’s prices.

Make sure your passports are up to date. You must have a minimum of 6 months remaining from the date of travel. The Passport office is currently taking 10-13 weeks or more for new/renewed passports and 7-9 weeks for those that have been expedited.
