BOARD OF DIRECTORS WORKSHOP MINUTES OF TUESDAY, MARCH 7, 2023
Call to Order: March 7, 2023, at 9:02 a.m.

Proof of Notice: The agenda was posted at the Administration office and Clubhouse, and on the Brookridge website, March 3, 2023. - PROOF OF NOTICE ESTABLISHED
Proof of Quorum: President Webster, 1st Vice President Duncan, Treasurer Basteri, Secretary Metcalf and Director Benoit were present. - PROOF OF QUORUM ESTABLISHED.
Also Present: General Manager Carol Webster, Recording Secretary Arlene Ahrens, Facilities Manager Mike Green. 35 members names on sign in sheet.
Taping Notice: Member video/audio taping meeting: 0
Approval of Minutes: Board of Directors Workshop of February 7, 2023 – minutes stand as submitted.
Correspondence: Letter from Loren Williams President of Brookridge Men's Club - motion by Metcalf, seconded by Duncan to allow the Men's Club to hold two more horse races on Monday, April 10, 2023 & Tuesday May 2, 2023, from 6 pm to 9 pm. Brief discussion followed. Vote taken. All in favor (5-0).
Motion by Metcalf, seconded by Duncan to allow the Men's club to hold an additional pancake breakfast on Saturday, May 13, from 8 am until 10 am. Vote taken, all in favor (5-0). Letter from Dick Theriault – Motion by Metcalf, seconded by Benoit to allow Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hernando County to do a presentation for Brookridge Residents at the clubhouse on May 2, 2023 at 6 pm. Discussion followed – Dick Theriault – Unit 3 – 60 seniors are needed to be mentors. It would only be 8 hours a month. Men and women are needed to volunteer. Gail Metcalf stated that no one is asking for money Vote taken, all in favor (5-0).

New Business: Motion by A. Webster, seconded by Basteri to appoint Tracay McUmber (Chairperson), Mark Whitley (Co-Chair), Thomas Freyman, Joan Gawlik, Sheila Walsh, Harry Calderbank, Steve Smetko, Allen Reynolds, Denis Beaudoin, Lucille Deguire (Alternate). Discussion followed. Treasurer Basteri had concerns about the resume submitted by Lucille Deguire. Tracay McUmber then stated that Lucille had decided not to be on the committee. Vote taken, all in favor (5-0). 1st Vice President swore in most of the new appointees.
Report of Directors: Basteri – Musicaires will be holding their spring concert on Sunday, March 19 from 3-5 pm. Monday, March 20, the Veterans Committee will be holding a Guardian Program Seminar. 2 members of Marine Corps 708 will be there. There are flyers in the clubhouse and the Administration office, the event begins at 10 am. Metcalf – thank you to the Unit Reps and the Beautification committee, they all work hard. The Rules and Regulations committee is also continuing to work diligently. Metcalf – things are not good in Brookridge, Carol Webster has not been allowed to do her job. At this point the meeting diverged from Board Business and was closed.
Motion by A. Webster, seconded by Duncan to adjourn, all in favor 5-0. Meeting Adjourned at 10:00 am
