SCHEDULE Tuesday Night Bingo will be closed the month of July. We will restart in August - Those dates are August 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd (All dates are subject to change).

Thanks to all our players for your loyal support. The Ladies of Brookridge were able to give Scholarships to 9 high school graduates in the amount of $1,000.00 each. We also purchased three new cabinets for our supplies.

We have a great group of players. They are friendly and helpful to newcomers. Come join us, we have a lot of fun. It is a pleasure working with our players, callers and volunteers

One half of the year is gone. Wow, it went fast. Our Friday night Bingo is going along quite nicely. However, we are always looking for people who would be interested in joining us in a volunteer way. We are looking for people who would be interested in working the floor, the tables, helping in the kitchen, calling and banking. It is a way to meet and make new friends. You would only have to work one Friday a month.

We have a monthly meeting the second Monday of the month, however, we will not meet again until Sept., at which time we will be creating a nominating committee so seek new officers. Our President, Eleanor Colasanti will be stepping down.

At this time, on behalf of the Bingo Committee, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Fourth of July. Let us celebrate our America, the Land of the Home and the Brave and the Free.

Helping Hands

Helping Hands is a sewing group making items for various charities. There is a working meeting each Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am in Room D. New members are always welcome and sewing skills are not required.

Donations are accepted of fabrics especially children's prints in cotton or broadcloth and flannel, or monetary contributions.

NO MEETINGS WILL BE HELD IN JULY.

In June the following donations were made: 50 bibs, 14 wheelchair tote bags and 1 walker carryall to the Noble Senior Center; 3 blankets Humane Society, 14 bed gowns to Hospice, and 12 chemo hats to the Advanced Cancer Treatment Center.

Summer is definitely here! If it's too hot for you to exercise outside why not join us Monday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at the pool for a full body exercise program.

The exercises will tone your muscles. The water cushions the joints and is helpful for those that have arthritis. Please join us!

I prefer to walk early in the morning. If you walk during the heat of the day be sure to wear sunscreen and carry drinking water. A cap is also a good ideal. You can also get a cooling headband. When it gets wet with sweat or water, special technology activates to produce a cooling sensation. And don't forget to exercise at least three days a week.

Our class is for Brookridge residents and their houseguests (Sorry, no children). The cost is fifty cents per class and the first class is free! Class starts at 8:30 am and runs to 9:30 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Classes start with low impact aerobics followed by stretch and tone; weights; and either mats or chairs. The class ends with a balance circle. Weights and mats are available if you don't have your own.

It's HOT, so be sure to keep hydrated. Drinking water is also good when we are trying to control our weight. Eight glasses of water daily is very good for each of us. Diet drinks don't quench the thirst and artificial sweeteners really aren't healthy.

Join us and learn the healthy way to eat and drink. Three healthy meals a day!!

We are meeting at 9:00 am on Monday mornings, during June, July and August “Weigh In” ONLY.

Meetings will resume first week of September.

If you are new to Brookridge or just haven't been to a meeting, Brookridge Singles meet on the 2nd and the 4th Sunday of each month between 6pm and 8pm. Sometime during each month, we usually have an off-site event. We do anything we can think of that's fun and interesting including potluck dinners, games, lunches, kayaking, bocce & shuffleboard…

ALL single Brookridge residents are welcome. It's a great way to make new friends with other singles in the community. We provide a nice atmosphere where you can come by yourself with no pressure. Just a group of singles having fun. Our July activities calendar is a bit abbreviated due to vacations. Sunday July 10th South Hall 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm South Hall is “Show Me the Money” night! Snacks will be provided but please bring your own drink. July 14th Bernice is hosting the monthly luncheon. She's chosen Texas Roadhouse for this month. Sneak peek for August? Carrabba's on the 24th! July 24th there will be a dance in the hall. There will be no Singles event that evening.
