{Mothica}
McKenzie Ellis is a native Oklahoman living io Brooklyn as a musician, s student, and artist who goes under the alias Mothica. At the age of 15 she started her own vintage clothing booth called The Junk Fairy.
How would you describe your personal style? I’m usually
wearing all-black with metal detailing but occasionally I go for colorful, school-girl inspired silhouettes. Neon and iridescent are my favorite colors.
What is your style mantra? If you look good, you feel good. I wore a party dress to my ACT and I rocked it.
What is your number one fashion rule? Don’t buy shoes you can’t run in.
What is your favorite thing about shopping secondhand? Everything has a history. Especially with vintage,
it makes the items I own so much more valuable to me because they are more unique than 20,000 factory made crop tops at Forever 21.
I wear lipstick on days when... I’m feeling witchy, which is quite often.
