FOUNDATION FEMALE

scholarship & Grant

It is no secret that supporting and encouraging our youth is one of the most important actions we all can take. For more than a decade, the Certified Texas Bred Program has given back over $115,000 to youth in scholarship funds. Through the Texas Pork Producers Association Foundation Gilt Scholarship & Production Grant, the association has been fortunate enough to support the youth of Texas in their future endeavors.

The purpose of the Texas Pork Producers Association Foundation Gilt Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to the most capable and deserving Texas FFA & 4-H members that have exhibited Certified Texas Bred Registry barrows and gilts as a youth project. In addition, the Texas Pork Producers Association Foundation Gilt Production Grant is awarded to graduating seniors who are planning to pursue and or continue their efforts in swine production.

Association membership shares a strong commitment in recognizing youth that have been involved within the CTBR program. The TPPA Foundation Gilt Scholarship/Production Grant is funded with proceeds of the Foundation Gilt which is sold as lot 3 in the Gilts of Distinction sale at Texas’ Elite Showcase. Since the beginning of the program, 12 firms have donated the foundation female. This year, the female will be donated by Luke Lindner of Lindner Showpigs.
