► Broncos defeat VMI 2-1 FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (9/21/08) – Randi Baker scored both Boise State goals in a 2-1 victory over the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) at the Mountain Classic in Flagstaff, Ariz. The match was dominated by Boise State from the start as the Broncos took an early lead in the 17th minute on Baker’s first score. After VMI had rallied to tie the match in the 69th minute, Baker scored the match-winner in the 81st to give the Broncos their fifth win of the season. ► Boise State Downs Montana 2-1 MISSOULA, Mont. (9/28/08) – Boise State scored two second-half goals to defeat Montana 2-1 on the road in Missoula. Freshman Molly Hill scored the Broncos first goal in the 49th minute. Then after Montana had tied the score on a 73rd minute penalty kick, senior Emma Boyack rallied Boise State with the match-winner in the 77th.

► Broncos Rally Past Northern Colorado for 2-1 win GREELEY, Colo. (10/3/08) – Shannon Saxton and Brandy Hickcox combined for two second-half goals to rally Boise State from a 1-0 halftime deficit for a 2-1 victory over Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colo. The Broncos surrendered a goal in the 16th minute of play when Maryann Hoke volleyed a rebound into the Boise State goal for an early UNC advantage. However, the Broncos rallied with two in the second period. Saxton tied the match on a breakaway goal in the 59th minute, followed by Hickcox’s game-winner in the 86th when she split two defenders to score with a low shot inside the far post. ► Wyoming Snaps Broncos’ win streak LARAMIE, Wyoming (10/5/08) – Boise State closed a long nine-match road swing on a sour note in Laramie, Wyo., when they suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at the hands of the University of Wyoming. The Cowgirls dominated the match outshooting the Broncos 10-to-zero in shots on goal. However, Boise State managed to stay in the contest to the end with their freshman goalkeeper Liz Ruiz stopping nine of Wyoming’s 10 shots on target. Unfortunately, the Cowgirls did eventually manage to slip one past the Bronco keeper in the 72nd minute when Amanda Lathrop volleyed a rebound back into the Bronco net, the initial shot had deflected off the post back into the field of play.

► Broncos and Louisiana Tech battle to 2-2 draw in snow storm BOISE, Idaho (10/10/08) – Boise State and Louisiana Tech not only had to battle each other Friday afternoon in the conference opener at Boise, but a heavy-snow storm as well that uncharacteristically, for early October, hit the Boise area . Ultimately, the match was suspended after regulation time with the score tied at 2-2. After Boise State had taken a two-goal lead on goals by Andrea Huerta in the 45th minute and Shannon Saxton in the 76th, Louisiana Tech took advantage of the bad weather to battle back to tie the match with two goals in the final seven minutes. The match normally would have gone into overtime to try and break the tie, but the officials ruled that it was too dangerous to continue the match and suspended it at the end of 90 minutes.
