Bronze Duologue Polina Georgieva and Anna Pavlova Sophie da Silva and Tom Fullwood Bronze Monologue Lax Chan, Polly Fletcher (D), Emily Hartshorne, Rachel Hotchin (M), Adam Robertson Additional Music and Drama Highlights Alistair Aktas (piano) won his category at the Northfield Music Festival. Emily Collie selected for her talent and potential to attend a Julian Lloyd Webber masterclass run by the Elgar School of Music. Maggie Chen received a recital diploma and is an Associate of Trinity College in London (ATCL). An achievement more often seen at first or second year university level. Andrea Ellinas won 2nd place in the Alcester Young Musician Competiton. Asher Hardy performed at the Playbox Theatre Company in Warwick, starring in ‘The Tempest’. Robyn Howcroft, Katherine Keates, Bethan Luckman and Sophie Luckman appeared at The Palace Theatre in Redditch in the ballet show ‘Dancers of Tomorrow’. Fran Kingston sang at Symphony Hall in Birmingham and in front of an audience at Sanders Park in Bromsgrove. Elizabeth Leather selected to play Second Violins with the City of Birmingham Youth Orchestra.
Lucy Sapwell auditioned for the National Youth Choir. Emma Westley offered a place at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music in London. The Cast of ‘Rock ‘n Roll Macbeth’ performed at the AllEngland Drama Festival. Sasha Bradley (Lady Macbeth) was awarded ‘Outstanding Female Performer’.
SPORT Athletics Team Achievements Boys’ and Girls’ Inter team took part in the English Schools’ Athletics Cup scoring enough points to enable them to go through to the Midlands Finals. Girls’ Inter team competed in the National Finals. At the ESAA Track and Field Cup Finals, Personal Bests were recorded for: Rebecca Straw (300m), Tara Thorpe (800m), Hannah Trow (800m), Ellen Lockhart (1500m), Lydia Trow (1500m). The team was placed 8th Nationally out of 800 schools that had entered. The Boys’ and Girls’ teams represented Worcestershire in the Mason Trophy at the Alexander Stadium. A record number of athletes competed at the Hereford and Worcestershire Championships. At Boys’ senior level Jonas Schaefer came 1st in the Javelin and 2nd in the Discus, James Bell 1st in the Hurdles and Matthew Gwillam 2nd in the 400m Hurdles. These are our best results in recent years.
