Located on Brock University’s main campus, our ESL students benefit from the same modern facilities as our Undergraduate and Graduate students. You can also enroll in academic courses while completing your ESL studies through our pathway programs.
We make sure you feel included in the local community. From our Homestay program and volunteer opportunities, to our social activities and university events – Brock will become your new home away from home.

Graduates will meet the English proficiency requirements for most Brock University undergraduate programs. Option, for advanced students, to study one undergraduate course also available for Fall, Winter and Spring term-entry. Also available for ESL Plus students. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST COURSES Prepare for TOEFL and IELTS English language proficiency tests with this introductory course to understand the test structure and strategies. A focus on the fundamental skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking, you will also learn the different question types each component includes, as well as tips and tricks and common mistakes to avoid. The course also includes online exercises and practice tests. • Increase your English Proficiency Test (EPT) score to further your academic study • Complete your university application with a new EPT score after course completion • Improved EPT scores can meet the English language requirements for admission into Brock University

ACADEMIC TRANSITIONS (ACT) PROGRAM A program offering advanced students the opportunity to complete their ESL studies at the same time as they take a credit courses toward their undergraduate degree. The modernized course curriculum features a revolutionary new e-textbook offering an immersive learning experience, improving a student’s ability in reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary. The course features two modules: businessentrepreneurship and intercultural communications, that provide students with practical, real-world language skills that will benefit them in future university studies or work environments. The flipped classroom approach maximizes in-classroom interaction with the instructor, while time outside the classroom focuses on independent learning with interactive, online material that provides students with immediate feedback on their progress learning the English language.
