Sudoku is a nine by nine grid. The solution (each puzzle has only one) will have all the numbers from one through nine in every row and every column. In addition, the grid is divided into nine three-by-three sections. Each of these three-by-three sections will also contain all the numbers from one through nine. Each Sudoku puzzle from Pappocom can be solved using logic alone. If you prefer guessing, you can – but there is a logical way to solve every puzzle. Let’s learn another, more complex, way to solve. Trying to place an 8 in the left section of the middle row on the easy puzzle. A future 8 can only be in the red sections of the center section because the 8 in the middle section of the bottom row eliminates the other spaces. Even though we don’t know into which of these 2 spaces the 8 will go, it will eliminate the 3 green spaces in the left section. Since the 8 in the right section of the middle row eliminates the space to the left of the 5, the only one place for the 8 is to the left of the 7. This complicated, two-step, technique can come in handy.
