Sudoku is a nine by nine grid. The solution (each puzzle has only one) will have all the numbers from one through nine in every row and every column. In addition, the grid is divided into nine three-by-three sections. Each of these three-by-three sections will also contain all the numbers from one through nine. Each Sudoku puzzle from Pappocom can be solved using logic alone. If you prefer guessing, you can – but there is a logical way to solve every puzzle. Let’s learn a different technique. Look at the left-most column on the medium puzzle, containing 1-2-3-6. There are enough 8s in the puzzle to help us place one here. The 8 in the lower left section eliminates the two spaces above the 6. The 8 in the very center of the puzzle eliminates the space above the 3. The 8 in the right section of the top row eliminates the space above the 2. This only leaves the spot directly below the 1 for the 8 in this column. You have learned one technique used to solve Sudoku puzzles. There are many more.
