St Bernadette Catholic Secondary

A

NXIOUS faces turned to smiles of joy as students opened their GCSE results at St Bernadette Catholic Secondary School, with many students achieving large numbers of top grades. Students, parents and staff at St Ber nadette’s, are celebrating strong results across a range of GCSE subjects and for individual pupils. Amongst the highest achievers gaining multiple A*/A grades were Ellen Davenport (11), Laurence Foster (11), Luke Staniland (10), Clement Harvey (9), Alyssa Virata (9), Julia Dombek (9) and Airam Pamintuan (9). All students at the school are pushed to achieve excellence in line with their abilities and the school was delighted that 95 per cent of students passed at least 8 GCSEs. Outcomes in English, biology,

chemistry, physics and RE are particularly strong, as are results in option subjects including modern foreign languages, computing, P.E. and catering. “These results are testimony to the hard work and high expectations of students and staff.”, said Headteacher Basia McLaughlin. “We are very proud of the achievements of our students and are delighted to be celebrating their success with them. St Bernadette’s is an ambitious and supportive school and we work hard to ensure every young person realises their potential.” Chair of Governors Kate Nicholls added: “Our congratulations go to all our students who have embraced the opportunities provided at St Bernadette’s, have worked hard and are celebrating their success. We wish them all the best for the future.”
