QUEENSLAND CABARET FESTIVAL

NOVA NOIR WITH KIM SMITH ELECTRO-POP MEETS WEIMAR CABARET IN THIS DIRECT-FROM-NEW YORK HIT. Award-winning New Yorkbased cabaret performer Kim Smith conjures the glitter and doom of Weimarera Germany, interspersed with original electro-pop tunes and revamped dance floor classics. Mining his debut album, Nova, Smith gives his own songs a decadent 1920s treatment and performs them alongside his inventive mash-ups of everyone from Friedrich Hollaender, Kurt Weill and Mischa Spoliansky, to Madonna, The Supremes, Kylie Minogue and myriad others. Join Smith and critically acclaimed accordionist and music director Benjamin Ickies for Nova Noir and celebrate the future of cabaret.

“Completely stellar... slyly subversive.” THE WALL STREET JOURNAL
