Etiquette

Penalities for Breach of Etiquette

If players follow the rules of etiquette it will make the game more enjoyable for everyone. If a player consistently disregards these rules during a round or over a period of time to the detriment of others, the Committeee will take appropriate disciplinary action. This is considered to be justifiable in terms of protecting the interests of the majority of golfers who wish to play in accordance with these rules. In the case of a

serious breach of etiquette, the Committee may disqualify a player under Rule 1.2.

Pace of Play

Maximum Playing Time

The maximum playing time for all competitions is 4 hours and 15 minutes.

It has been determined that the time a group of four players takes between the ninth green they are playing and the time the group commences hitting off on their tenth hole should not exceed ten minutes.

Players are required to scan or submit their scorecard within five minutes of finishing.

A group will be considered to have failed to maintain their position in the field if they exceed the maximum playing time and submit their scorecard more than 13 minutes after the group preceding. A finishing time will be allocated to each group and this data will be reviewed by the Match Committee on a regular basis.

Be Ready to Play

The Brisbane Golf Club encourages and practises "Ready Golf". If players are ready to play and it is safe to do so, then this practice is encouraged throughout the round, not just on the tee. When playing on or near the putting green, they should leave their bags or carts in such a position to enable quick movement off the green and towards the next tee. When the play of a hole has been completed, players should immediately leave the putting green.

Priority on the Course

Unless otherwise determined by the Committee, priority on the course is determined by a group's pace of play. Any group playing a whole round is entitled to pass a group playing a shorter round. The term "group" includes a single player.

Golf Shop

All players must report to the Golf Shop before play. In the event the Golf Shop is closed, all players must report to the Golf Shop after play.

Suspension of Play

If the Committee or an authorised person considers that for any reason the course is not in a playable condition or that

circumstances prevent the proper playing of the game it may, in match play or stroke play, order a temporary suspension of play. This includes the presence of dangerous conditions such as lightning, wind, heat or any condition considered unsafe by the Committee.

If the players in a match or group are between the play of two holes, or if they are in the process of playing a hole, they must discontinue play immediately and must not resume play until a resumption of play has been ordered. If a player resumes play or fails to discontinue play immediately they will be disqualified.

The signal for discontinuing play immediately is one prolonged note of the siren. The signal for the resumption of play is two short notes of the siren, repeated.
