The least of what we teach in rowing is how to pull an oar This season, I spent time talking to the senior rowing boys about Dr Arne Rubinstein’s book The Making of Men. Dr Rubinstein writes about raising boys to be successful men, characterising six main differences between a boy and a man. We have boys (and men) in this club who are at various stages in this journey – and their status is not based on chronological age. What’s rowing got to do with the making of men?
