WELCOME TO THE 14TH BRIGHTON COMEDY FESTIVAL! The Comedy Festival is now a well-established part of the Brighton Entertainment calendar. The festival hub is at the Brighton Dome but also takes place at the Komedia and the jewel in Hove’s crown, The Old Market. The aim of the Festival has always been to showcase the best stand up comedians working in the UK. We take great pride in the fact that since we started pretty much every comedy name in the business has performed with us. This year, once again, we are delighted to present a line up for you that includes the most exciting new talent of the moment along with many festival favourites that are established names in the industry. The Irish contingent is out in force this year with Dara O Briain, Jason Byrne, David O’Doherty, Tommy Tiernan, Ed Byrne and Patrick Kielty all bringing their craic to the seaside. We are very pleased to welcome The Guardian Live with their Football Weekly; as well as the brains behind famous TV programme QI, with both its producer John Lloyd, fresh from an Edinburgh triumph, along with the QI Elves. And don’t miss the mighty Frankie Boyle. As ever we have selected some of the finest comedy shows from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, including Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominees Sarah Kendall, Nish Kumar and James Acaster, plus the Winner Sam Simmons. We are also showcasing some of the hottest new talent including the Foster’s Edinburgh Best Newcomer Sofie Hagan. For those of you that want to see a range of the best comedians in one evening do support our Best of the Fest nights. Also as usual the festival kicks off with our Opening Night Gala in aid of Sussex Beacon. Come and join us for a good laugh!
