PROGRAMME OF ASSESSMENT

The Programme of Assessment is designed to spread formal assessment tasks in all subjects in a school throughout a term. Programme of Assessment for Mathematical Literacy in Grades 10 and 11 The Programme of Assessment for Mathematical Literacy in Grades 10 and 11 consists of eight tasks which are internally assessed: 

Seven of the eight tasks are completed during the school year and make up 25% of the total mark for Mathematical Literacy.

The end-of-year examination is the eighth task and makes up the remaining 75%.

* Teachers can choose to evaluate either an assignment or an investigation completed by the learners during each term. By the end of the year learners should have completed a minimum of two assignments and two investigations.

The suggested Programme of Assessment assumes that: 

all the topics and sections are addressed throughout the year;

the topics are weighted in accordance with the suggested minimum weightings for each topic outlined in Chapter 2 of this document;

content and/or skills are integrated across a variety of topics throughout teaching and learning, and in the assessment activities. Page 105
