Choose from hundreds of vendors that provide your basic wedding needs such as cakes, flowers, wardrobes, venues, photographers, videographers, catering, and music options. Don’t forget the extras, there are also vendors that showcase bridal accessories, spa parties, photo-booths, perfume bar, party hats, travel, party planners, and even a communications coordinator.

With 5,000 in attendance over the weekend, another January Bridal Extravaganza goes down as a success in the books. In our post covid world brides and

wedding vendors are ready to move forward in the business of love. Wedding planning seminars, fashion shows, samples and giveaways; this is the event you do not want to miss if you are involved in a wedding. This year’s Fashion Show featured walks from Impression Bridal, Wanderlust, Modern Affinity, Janice Bridal Couture, Estelle Bridal and Isabella Brides.

I fell in love with the spring colors in this arrangement as the light hits them, can you imagine these in natural light!? Breathtaking.

Bubbles!

Bubbles are a great way to send off the bride and groom. Consider using bubbles to make fabulous pictures as you walk through the sea of bubbles in your beautiful wedding dress. Flower Arrangements

Heaven on Earth had one of the most beautifully decorated booths at the Houston Bridal Extravaganza. The smell of fresh flowers emitted the exhibit hall and created a fairytale setting.

Ali Iqbal Photography’s booth was so beautiful, I could not tell that I was in a convention center. The setting made me believe I was outside camping.

Angel Wings

Who would have expected to see angel’s wings, not me! They were red, pink, and classic white. Some even had wedding dresses on them.

Cute Desserts

These detailed dessert toppings are amazing. The pink flower with layers is cute, but not too cute to eat.

Embroidery on Dresses

All bridal gowns have one thing in common, they are beautiful. But the thing that makes them different is the embellishments. This dress has gorgeous pink flowers embroiled into the bodice.

Black Dresses

Black dresses might be a trend, thank you Jenna Ortega. More than one black dress was on display at the Bridal show, not to mention that a few were seen in the Fashion Show, and Gown Gallery. They have captivated my heart.

Creative Guestbook Ideas

Guestbooks are a memorable experience for both guests to have fun with, and couples to look back on their special day. Display different postcards from all over the world and have your guests write a note on their favorite (they might have suggestions for their favorite place to visit). Add a custom mailbox to make it even more unique and to save the postcards. Another idea is setting up a polaroid photo station and ask your guests to take their photo. Then tape it in a book and write a note to it. This is going to be a unique, interactive experience.

Photo Scavenger Hunt

A photo scavenger hunt is a fun activity that everyone can enjoy. Send your guests on a scavenger hunt and let them capture different moments from the wedding. GETTING TO KNOW THE SAVANNAH KIZACHATÉRA

The Bridal Extravaganza Show, in Houston, Texas features a real bride on its citywide billboards. Every six months a new winner is selected. Let’s meet Savannah, a fiery red head with a contagious smile.

A GLIMPSE INTO SAVANNAH’S PASSIONS

Savannah owns her own dance studio called Houston BKZS which stands for Bachata, Kizomba, Zouk and Salsa. She teaches Latin Social Dancing, which is more of a street style dancing for dancing at parties and clubs. Savannah says, “As the only female (dance event) organizer in Houston, it was crucial for me to create events that were not only uniquely fun but that gave women a voice and a safe place to shine.” Savannah focuses on meeting the needs of each student, so they can learn to build on their own strengths and weaknesses. “I can’t grow the community unless I grow the individual.” As you might expect, she’ll be performing a salsa fusion dance at her upcoming wedding.

THE PROPOSAL

Savannah had been going through a difficult time in life because of a scary health crisis. She had to have many procedures and surgeries to become whole again. During these challenging times, John wanted to double down on his commitment to her. At a time in between procedures, John took Savannah to a winery called Chapelton Vineyards. At sunset, on a balcony overlooking the vineyard, John got down on one knee and opened his heart to Savannah as he asked her to become his wife. “This is what real love is about – not just sailing through the good times but really being there for someone when they’re helpless and their world is crashing down around them.” They will be getting married at The Homestead in October of 2024.

How did you feel today being the star of your own photo shoot?

“I had an exceptional experience; everyone was so lovely and friendly to work with and the photographer has an amazing vision for what she wanted for today. It was a beautiful and sereal moment, and I am honored that I was chosen. “

What are some of the highlights when looking back at the day of your styled shoot?

“I was excited to work with the photographer, Stephanie was very professional and reassuring. The venue owners were super welcoming, and I loved the variety of desserts. It was a beautiful day, and I am thankful the weather wasn’t bad. I am glad I had this experience because now I have more clarity about my own wedding choices.”

Destined for Love

THE LOVE STORY

Grant and Laura met through a mutual friend on January 10, 2014. Right as Laura was being introduced to Grant, she was finishing up a comment under a post that was made by Grant’s brother on Facebook. When she heard the words, “This is Taylor Powell’s brother Grant,” she couldn’t believe the coincidence that was occurring. She immediately looked up from her phone and met Grant’s eyes for the first time and she couldn’t stop looking. For the rest of the night Grant and Laura were infatuated with each other as more coincidences were revealed. There was a Led Zeppelin poster with the exact Celtic knot symbol Laura has a tattoo of. There was a Nintendo 64 that Laura had been craving to play again for years, so Grant put in Mario Kart and on they raced. Grant was a complete gentleman and made a lasting impression on Laura.

Laura left that night praying to God, “If this connection was as real as I felt and if it is meant to be, please let us see each other again!” Four long days later Laura heard from Grant and from then on, they were pretty much inseparable. A little over a year later they moved in together and two years after that they found out that in just nine months, they would become parents.

THE PROPOSAL

On Christmas Day, 2017 Grant proposed to an eightmonth pregnant Laura in front of her family. He completely surprised her with her parents in on the surprise and it blew her away. Their daughter Lily was born on January 30, 2018. From the day they met, to the present day, they couldn’t be happier and so blessed to have found one another.

BRIDE’S ADVICE

“Really consider those that will be in your wedding party. You want people who will not mind going through all the work and activities that will make your day special for both you and your partner. Another thing is to realize that perfection is perception. Details or arrangements you imagined may not all come together but no one will notice except you. Don’t get lost in the little stuff; the bigger picture of walking down that aisle is what matters.”

Timeless Love

Morgan Noble and Dakota

Aplanalp exchanged their vows on April 9, 2022. Morgan worked as an IT consultant, while Dakota was involved in financial reporting. The couple first met during their senior year of high school when mutual friends introduced them. Despite attending different colleges in separate states, they managed to maintain a strong relationship throughout their college years.

Dakota planned a beautiful and heartfelt proposal in September 2020. Under the guise of a happy hour picnic with his coworkers, he surprised Morgan with a romantic setup in the park. After reading a heartfelt letter, Dakota got down on one knee and proposed. Morgan happily accepted, and to her surprise, they proceeded to Dakota’s mother’s studio, where their family and close friends were waiting to celebrate their engagement.

The wedding took place at Boxwood Manor, a venue that captivated the couple with its beauty. Its convenient location near both of their families made it an ideal choice for their special day. The rehearsal dinner was held at Wild Stallion Vineyard, adding a touch of elegance and charm to the pre-wedding celebrations.

Morgan found her dream gown at Vivienne Atelier, and she looked radiant as she walked down the aisle. The couple indulged their

guests with delicious cakes from Bavarian Cakery, and the stunning floral arrangements from Elaine Johnston Designs added a touch of natural beauty to the event.

For their honeymoon, Morgan and Dakota chose to visit St. Martin and Puerto Rico, embracing the opportunity to create lasting memories in breathtaking destinations.

Throughout the wedding planning process, the couple was grateful for the exceptional vendors they worked with. From the photographers and videographers, Ivan and Ana Garcia, to the talented food caterers at Churrascos, every detail was executed flawlessly. The Password Band brought the celebration to life with their incredible musical performances. Decor by Dulce, LG Events, The Mohr Collective, Bespoken Beauty, and the Boxwood Manor coordinator team all contributed to making the day truly unforgettable.

Morgan and Dakota incorporated unique elements into their wedding, such as writing their own vows and reading them during the ceremony. They also made time for a private moment together after the ceremony to reflect and cherish the day. LG Events added excitement to the dance floor with confetti, while After the Tone provided an audio guest book experience. Guests

were encouraged to glue their photo booth pictures in a guest book, creating a personalized keepsake.

The couple attended the Bridal Extravaganza Show in Houston and were grateful for the opportunity to meet their talented photographer/videographers, Ivan and Ana Garcia. The show provided valuable insights, advice, and ideas from various vendors and professionals, facilitating the wedding planning process.

BRIDE’S ADVICE

Morgan encourages brides to savor every moment because the wedding day passes by quickly. It’s essential to enjoy the journey and make the most of each experience along the way.

Cherished Moments

&ABIGAIL ROSE MILLER SAMUEL OROZCO

Abigail Rose Miller and Samuel Orozco tied the knot on September 17, 2022, in a heartfelt wedding ceremony held in Houston, Texas. Abigail, a talented data scientist and mathematician, met Samuel, a dedicated sales representative, during their time as coworkers at Samuel's current company. Although they lost touch for a while, their paths crossed again, leading to a beautiful love story.

The proposal was a surprise orchestrated by Samuel during an informal maternity photoshoot with two of Abigail's best friends. In the midst of capturing precious moments, Samuel got down on one knee and presented Abigail with a dazzling engagement ring, leaving her utterly surprised and overjoyed.

The couple selected a charming venue in Houston, Texas, for their wedding after being impressed by a friend's wedding shower held at a similar location.

They were drawn to the venue's flexibility, allowing them to personalize the space while still providing the essential amenities.

The rehearsal dinner took place at Star Pizza, where the couple, along with their families and the bridal party, enjoyed a delightful meal. The most popular pizza order was the Starburst, without mushrooms, satisfying everyone's taste buds.

Abigail's exquisite wedding gown was purchased from Unbridaled in Houston, Texas. She entrusted Kristin Johnston Bridal with the alterations, which included the addition of a customized belt, adjustments to the fit, and a beautifully designed bustle.

The couple's wedding cake held a special touch as it was lovingly created by Samuel's mom, Veronica Reyes. It featured an almond white cake with a

delectable raspberry filling. The bride, along with her friends and family, also contributed to the wedding treats, which were made the night before the celebration.

Their honeymoon plans involved a trip to Japan in the summer of 2024, with the couple excitedly bringing along their toddler to create beautiful family memories.

Waterdog & Rabbit Photography played a significant role in capturing the precious moments of the wedding. With their understanding of the challenges of having a toddler at the wedding, they went above and beyond to ensure all the little details were taken care of, including getting the toddler dressed and capturing candid shots of the guests, in addition to the bride and groom.

A unique aspect of the wedding was the serving of Vietnamese Bánh mì from Hughie's Grille in Houston,

Texas. This restaurant held special significance for the couple as it was one of their first date spots, and it delighted their guests as well.

BRIDE’S ADVICE

As for tips for other brides, Abigail emphasizes the importance of doing what truly makes the couple happy and comfortable. She advises future brides to follow their own vision and find creative alternatives if time or finances are limited. DIYing aspects of the wedding helped them create a personalized experience without overwhelming themselves with debt.

Abigail also emphasizes that at the end of the day, what truly matters are the memories created, the smiles, laughter, and cherished moments shared with loved ones, rather than the minutiae of decorations or expensive details.

Bailey Gamage Hart knew she had to pick Nashville for her bachelorette weekend after hearing rave reviews from her friends. And she was not disappointed! With the help of a local bridesmaid, Bailey and her 11-person crew had an unforgettable weekend full of live music, delicious food, and fun activities. They even rode in an open-air cattle trailer through downtown with bartenders and DJs on board to keep the party going. And there was never a dull moment with petal bikes and tons of bars playing live music.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Nashville is a top destination for all groups, including large bachelorette parties. With over 40 bars and 30 live music venues in just five blocks downtown, there’s something for everyone. And with famous chefs opening restaurants and hotels available at every price point, you can find the perfect accommodations for your crew. Plus, Uber and Lyft make getting around a breeze.

Mexico is such a desirable destination for those of us living in the great state of Texas. It’s literally a hop, skip and a jump and we are laying in a hammock with our tropical drink-of-choice in hand. Many of the well-known vacation spots in Mexico have been overrun with tourists, cruise ships and vendors but not Zihuatanejo! Imagine having your dream wedding, honeymoon or even bachelor or bachelorette party at a resort that is not only lush with tropical flowers, mountainous terrain but it’s unique, refined and off the beaten path.

It’s been many, many moons since I had a destination wedding and let’s just say I WISH I had known about THOMPSON ZIHUATANEJO when I was planning my dream day! No one wants their wedding to feel like a fast-food joint with the resort churning out 20 weddings in a day! Your wedding should feel like it reflects you and your spouse and the wedding experts at THOMPSON ZIHUATANEJO know just how to make your wedding feel unique, personal and reflective of you and your partner’s style and relationship.

Let’s imagine it’s the week of YOUR destination wedding at the luxurious, yet approachable, Thompson Zihuatanejo. First, you and your guests arrive at the airport in Ixtapa which is an easy transport to “Zihua,” as the regulars call it. In roughly 30 minutes you have arrived at one of the most layered, refined, unconventional and pioneering Mexico destinations that you’ll ever have the pleasure of experiencing.

Upon arriving the staff will immediately bring you their mouthwatering, fresh, fruit juice of the day, and then leisurely guide you through the colorful gardens, lined with rock ponds and wall art to your love nest hideaway. Highly recommended are the exclusive swim up suites. This is a small cove of 11 adjacent suites, each with indoor AND outdoor showers, modern amenities and best of all you’ll pass through sheer, white linen curtains to your own little private patio that leads to the swim up pool. This arc of suites will share the pool which makes for such a lively gathering spot for your wedding party. To top it off, the view from this picturesque pool is what you would see on a longlost postcard from the past. The Thompson in Zihua is just the right size, that if needed, you could rent out the entire 56 suite property for your wedding party for the ultimate wedding event experience!

After settling in, there’s many ways for you and your guests to spend the days leading up to the big event. Paddle boarding through the ocean “neighborhood” of sailboats is entertaining and the beach staff is so accommodating. They will carry the board out to the water for you and even give you helpful pointers for a successful outing. There are tennis courts, and of course plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas to take in the sounds of the ocean and chill out with a Mexican Margarita! The spa takes on a Moroccan vibe and the services will leave you in a trance of relaxation. Book a snorkeling excursion or visit the

waterfront shops downtown and make a scavenger hunt out of finding the seven female statues. They are historically known for representing the indigenous women of the seven regions of the state of Guerrero and are spread out throughout the downtown area of Zihua.

We all love eating but the food served at Thompson is seriously the most delectable food I’ve EVER eaten AND the ambience is unprecedented. Your wedding events can be hosted directly on the beach, with white lights, under the most romantic openair teepees, as the waves are crashing in. Both restaurants, Hao and Ceniza, serve veggies that are garden fresh, and the seafood is straight from the ocean. Treat your guests to a cooking class, taught by the chef himself, and not only will they learn culinary skills that they can take home, but you’ll also have some great laughs and memories to last a lifetime.

Thompson Zihuatanejo will be a beautiful start to your marriage and a destination that you will be magnetically drawn to circle back to time and time again.

This was the perfect atmosphere for this Hill Country styled shoot. The vibrant colors of the bouquets accentuated the brides’ wedding gowns.
